A/N: I hope to convince my counterpart to share their writing as well. Please enjoy this small bit of mythological fanfiction. I can't write dance scenes, I am sorry.

WARNING: Thanatos is drunk, Hades is a weirdo, Dionysus and Ares are jerks, Nothing else.

Stilettos sound so lovely on marble. She slipped between patrons at the bar, twisting her body around to face the server.

"Whiskey, on rocks," she stated cooly. The waiter gave a knowing nod and prepared her drink, "M'lady." She thanked the waitperson and slid between the chattering individuals that had arrived for the sole purpose of seeing one of the most unstable thieves in the world. Her amber eyes darted around the room. She always had been a people watcher. Her thoughts ran out of her brain as follows; old, rich but old, he's decent, dangerous, I don't like how he's looking at me.

She unconsciously shifted the fabric of the dress to try and hide the skin of her olive thighs. She had worn a double-slitted dress. Her dress was designed to grab attention but not the attention of the young blonde boy who was practically drooling. The only eyes that she wanted on her were those of Aries. His parents were cruel but named him right, he was mean and a fighter. She wanted him to notice her. If he did then maybe, just maybe she could catch him. He was a famous thief but because of his connections and background, the police couldn't touch him. Odessa had been hired privately, she didn't know their name because they used an alias, she never saw their face either. All she knew was that she was getting paid, and a lot too. The emerald dress caught the light, the rhinestones reflecting against the ceiling making her look like a giant green disco ball. A soft hand on her shoulder made her breath hitch and she spun 'round to face a waiter. He took her now empty glass before speaking.

"Are you hungry Ma'am?"

"No, thank you."

The waiter nodded and retreated back into the shadow of a long red curtain. She turned back around, and then she saw. There he stood, a long pale birthmark from one ear to the other, right across his nose. He was hard to miss. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other before launching herself into the middle of the ballroom. She hadn't practiced the jazz solos for nothing. With a nod to the musicians, she began. small spins and she lifted her leg slowly into the air, grateful to have the black shorts under her dress. The crowd cleared out of her way, moving to the side to watch her dance. The spins got tighter and faster and then she jumped, twisting gracefully through the air landing on her knees. She spun from her knees to her feet. She was satisfied with the fact that she'd taken off her stilettos and replaced them with the small ballet flats from her friend, the green silk twisted up her legs accentuating the movements she made. Now all she needed was a partner. She danced her way over to Aries, he knew what she wanted. She took his hand and pulled him into the center of the floor, he caught her 'round the waist and tossed her. She spun a few times before landing in his arms as deadweight. She could have landed better but she needed to know how strong he really was. He caught her effortlessly. Aries' massive chestnut hands spun her out and then back in. The dance quickly went from fast jazz to even swifter swing and by the time the song was over she was drenched in sweat. She curtseyed politely and he bowed, a startling grin flitting across his lips.

"I'll be seeing you later, yes?"

Odessa gave a thoughtful hum, "maybe."

He laughed, "I certainly hope so."

Odessa's lips twisted upwards as he walked away. Idiot, that was just the beginning. She had him now, Odessa was good at what she did and she certainly showed it. Then she saw it. He had gone over to stand with other men she recognized. Hades and Thanatos, the librarian and the killer. Hades flashed a soft smile in her direction that made the other women in her vicinity blush and giggle. She shook her head and glared right back. Her aura was impressive. The tension in the air could have been cut with a knife. She strutted over, showing off all of her assets. The goal was to make them interested, then she could have their help to take Aries down. It would be difficult but she had been hired for a reason, right? Odessa got close enough that Hades could've kissed her.

"Odessa, darling."

"Hades, where is my dog."

"Hah, oh him, I'm not sure." Smooth. Odessa wrapped her hand around his tie and slammed her knee upwards, hitting his sternum.

"Don't lie to me,' she hissed as he gagged, clutching his stomach.

He straightened up, "Fine, he's at my house, go 'n get 'im, tiger."

She frowned at the nickname and shook her head. I'm not an idiot. What did he take her for? She wasn't 20 years old anymore. She could handle herself. "Try again," another knee to his stomach. Now people were staring. Hades' smile dropped. Finally, he was serious. He caught Odessa by the wrist and tugged her to the center of the room. With a nod to the DJ, they began. No more dancing thought Odessa. A few spins around the room and she managed to switch places with Thanatos who was thoroughly confused but not altogether upset. Hades caught her wrist, "I can't tell you where he is because I don't know."

Odessa laughed, "You should've just said that, it would've saved you a couple of broken ribs."

Hades looked colder than ever. Thanatos, who had already had too much to drink, was giggling viciously behind them. Aries had told him something about Odessa that made her face go redder than a tomato. She spun, long red hair hitting the silverette in the face. Thanatos let out another fairly loud giggle. Aries glared and brushed her hair from his shoulder.

"Watch yourself Odessa."

"You should watch your mouth."

Aries sighed and turned to walk to the bar, tossing his long charcoal hair over his shoulder. Odessa gave a faint huff, it was gonna be a long night. A pretty young woman with pink hair slid between Hades and Thanatos, Persephone. Hades watched anxiously, "You're here?"

"Of course I am. Odessa dear, we have your dog. Come by to pick him up anytime!"

"Thank you, Persephone. Your husband wasn't forthcoming about that." The roses that adorned Persephone's head shriveled and were replaced with oversized black thorns. Her eyes flashed an angry Fushia color and she glared at her husband. Hades blushed and glanced nervously towards the ground.

"C'mon! Let's go get a drink!"

Before Odessa could argue she was being dragged to the bar, her drink long forgotten by everyone but Thanatos. The pinkette grinned and looped an arm around Odessa's waist, "So, how has Dionysus been to you," she wiggled her unnaturally colored eyebrows.

"He's very, ah, talented, at least that's what I've heard," teased Persephone. Odessa's face went bright red, "w-well I suppose so, I-I wouldn't know." She turned her face from her inquisitive friend. Persephone grinned, "Don't play dumb, you're his wife." Odessa giggled and squirmed in her seat. Persephone continued an onslaught of very personal questions until the waiter brought Odessa her drink giving her an excuse not to answer. Persophone laughed, "Hades is too old for anything fun, all he does is organize and sleep. You're lucky to have such an active and entertaining husband."
