I open my eyes to the sunlight bathed on my skin as I lay on the grass. I close my eyes again, trying to catch the last remnants of my sleep as it slowly dissolves, but my thoughts forbid me. The image of ogres are still fresh on my mind, worrying me more than my actual quest.

I sit up, causing Max to stir awake. It takes me a second to wake my body before I'm on my feet. I don't waste any time feeding a small breakfast to Max and I, and as soon as he is fully awake and energized, I hop onto him and trot further into the green and live woods.

As the hours go by, the trees seem to become thinner and the lush land becomes vast. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was out of the woods already, but I have at least another day before I enter the outskirts and villages of Farraday.

The flowers waltz in the gentle breeze and I close my eyes, feeling a calm surrender. My thoughts wander to Jarin and my mother, reliving pleasant memories. I take a deep breath of the scent of nature, tickling my nose. My face crumples into a frown and I sneeze violently.

The mood shifts, and so does a shadow in the trees. My heart rate quickens, mostly because of the sneeze. In a blink of an eye, I'm already aiming my bow and arrow in the general direction of the shadow.

Max tenses up under me but his stance is ready for attack.
6, 7, 8... The shadow moves again and I shoot, pushing my luck. I must've angered the shadow because it roars to life and jumps out of the trees. An ogre.

I shoot 3 more arrows, all of them hitting the beast's armor but not slicing far enough to hurt him. I curse under my breath as it runs closer. The sword, something tells me. I pull out the sword, making a dramatic sound and I swing it into the ogres body.

A wave of energy lashes throughout the meadow, making Max falter and a few trees to snap. My eyes widen at the sword punctured in a fading body, the ogre was disappearing in thin air. When the last trace of the beast was gone, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.

I was right, the sword possesses strong magic. I cautiously tuck the sword back in it's sheath, leaving me puzzled and in shock. Where did the body go?
