***** I am soooo sorry for the short chapters. I promise to make them longer. I write when I can..... Like I said my daughter keeps me pretty busy. *****
The next day, Ankhesmaaten sat in her chambers listening to a few servants play music when the Priest returned. Bowing low, he presented a satchel of herbs to her, "Have this brewed in a tea twice daily. Drink it all, no matter the taste, and you will reach your goal." Ankhesmaaten thanked him and he left. "Maat! Brew this in a tea for me," she commanded. Maat hurried off to do her bidding. Calling another handmaiden, Ibaa, she ordered her to invite Kiya for lunch. Ibaa bowed and hurriedly left the chambers. Satisfied, Ankhesmaaten sat back and continued to listen to the music played by her servants. Some time later, Maat returned with a large goblet of tea. Ankhesmaaten gulped it down, wincing at the bad taste.
Nefertiti lay in her bed, rubbing her slightly swollen belly. The priests told her that she was likely 3 months along in her pregnancy, due to the size of her belly and loss of period. It would be a son, she was sure of it, a future Pharoah. Smiling to herself, she laughed softly, shortly before Amenhotep IV married Ankhesmaaten, she had gotten pregnant. What a way to steal the limelight and attention from the new wife. She was sure the girl had hoped her two weeks with her brother, the Pharoah, would have produced a child. Instead it was she who basked in his attention, and he had already lavished her with many gifts. Soon, very soon, she, Nefertiti would have it all and the others would be forgotten as her son became heir. Chuckling to herself, she rubbed her belly once more.
After the servant had left, Kiya smiled to herself. So the little slut had fallen for her trick after all. She truly thought that she wanted to be friends with her. That would be her down fall, Ankhesmaaten wouldn't even see it coming. Then the only thing left to take care of was Nefertiti and her babe. If it was a son, mark her words, he and his mother wouldn't live long. Calling for Niia, she ordered her to get her clothes ready. Humming to herself, she ordered the servants to draw her a bath. Everything was falling into place.
****Wow! So everyone is out to get each other!!!! So who will rise and who will fall in the affections of the Pharoah? Read more to find out :)****
