5 months later
*Laura🇧🇪*
Man, my life has been crazy the past couple months. My dad died five months ago and my mum committed suicide over it. But, I don't wanna talk about it right now. Anyway, my CFC team has been unbeaten so far...but so has Man City. We've only tied one other time besides City...Brighton. My National Team has done pretty good for now. I mean, we're an okay team, but we are getting better. We beat the U.S. 2-0, beat Romania 3-2, and loss to Brazil 1-0. In the friendly against Argentina we tied 2-2...Marci Aguero scored both goals for them. We've actually been talking and she's actually very nice. Oh well, enough of my annoying back story. Let's focus on the current moment.
Currently, I am getting ready for my mum and dad's funeral in Belgium. It's been hard for Eden and me especially. I mean, the other two have been affected just not as much. I'm wearing a black dress with black high heels and a black necklace (pic on side). I finish curling my hair and head downstairs. Eden whistles, as do Kylian and Thorgan. I blush a little. Eden hugs me and rests his head on top of mine.
"My beautiful little sister," he says. "So brave and so young." He's gonna make me cry and I don't want my makeup to smear now.
"You do look nice, Laura." Kylian smiles.
"Thank you." I smile at him and give him a tight hug. I move to Thorgan next.
"You're giving a speech tonight. Don't forget," he says. Oh yeah, Eden chose me to give the speech. Gosh, I think he wants me to cry. I text Brooklyn real fast since I feel bad about not being there for our 6 month anniversary.
Me🙌🏻: I'm about to head off for the funeral...happy anniversary btw😘 ly
Brooklyn💞: awwwwww I hope everything goes well at the funeral😘 and love u more!😘
I put my phone in my black clutch and turn to Eden.
"I'm ready," I say, trying to smile. Natasha is in the hospital and should be giving birth any time next week. Yannis is looking forward to another brother and sister, but Eden still has his concerns. I get in the front seat with Eden and we drive to the funeral home. One word: depressing. I walk in the room and see two caskets...my mum on the left and my pap on the right. We kept the guest list short, but invited some of our friends: Eden, me, Thorgan, Kylian, Natasha, Leo and Yannis, Thibaut, Kevin, Vincent, Fellani, JT and family, Oscar and family, and my cousins. I haven't seen my cousins in a few years. They have a daughter who's a year older than me, Chrisly, and a older boy, Mattias who's 20. I miss my auntie and uncle badly. I look at my parent's bodies and feel a tear, but I quickly wipe it away.
I approach the small stage and look at everyone. Man, this is gonna be hard. I look at Eden and see him mouth "you got this." I smile and look at my paper.
"My dad has been suffering from lung cancer for a long time. There wasn't any cure or proposal that might help. He lived through so much pain...but he did it for me and my brothers. I wouldn't be the footballer I am if I hadn't been born to Carine and Thierry. I just felt so bad for my mum and can only imagine what she went thought."
I feel tears burning at my eyes. "I remember this one time when I was like 12 and Jessica came to Belgium for a month and I introduced her to my dad. He said he didn't like her, but then they became good friends. I have a lot more to say about them, but I don't wanna take up hours of your time. But let me say this: my parents were my inspiration for playing football. I wanted to be like them...and here I am. RIP mummy and daddy." I break away from the podium and Eden hugs me tight. He knows how I feel and he feels bad. And...what is there to fight for anymore?

*next day/Eden🇧🇪*
I wake up to Natasha's heavy breathing. I look at her.
"You okay?" I ask. She just smiles a little.
"I think it's time," she says. I look at her. Oh my goodness...the babies! I jump out of bed.
"Let's go then!" I shout. She gets up and I bang on Laura's room.
"Oi, go away!" she shouts at me.
"You and your brothers need to meet us at the hospital," I shout at her. Natasha and I get in the car and I speed to Brussels ER. They get her checked into a room and have me wait in the 'waiting room' until she's begun contractions.
