The Owl House human AU

Part 5

Thursday was horrible. Like why the fuck would someone do this? It was all over T.V, and all Luz could do was watch. She felt completely useless, she was just watching it on rewind.

"Today we have the news that 'The Owl House' was robbed late at night. It doesn't seem to be the so-called 'Golden Guard' but another criminal. Based on eye witnesses there seemed to be about five people all dressed in black, none of which have been identified as of now." Luz can't even begin to comprehend what's going on.

It was Friday morning and Luz was just watching the news in awe. She couldn't believe her eyes, she had been there just last night. She felt sick to her stomach. How could  someone do this to anyone? She decided to call Eda because she wanted to see how they were doing. She click the contact 'Owl Lady🦉' and it rang.

'Hey kid,' Eda's voice sounded tired, 'what's up?'

"Eda oh my god are you okay? Is The Owl House okay? What's going on?" Luz asked with panic in her voice.

"It's gonna be okay, kid. We're going to be fine. Me and Lilith aren't gonna be at school today because of some legal stuff but I'll see you Monday. Everything going to be okay."

Eda's voice was comforting, it made Luz feel so much better about the situation.

"Okay." Luz said and ended the call, she still had school. She was being kinda kinda quiet at the bus stop and her friends and sister didn't push.

She was staring blankly out the window, her girlfriend wasn't here because her family had this thing to go to, her friends offered to sit with her but she just sat at the back of the bus. Amity was going to be there for lunch and the rest of the day so she just needed to make it till then. When they pulled up to the Wittebane household she had an idea, when she saw Hunter she grabbed his arm and pulled him into her seat.

"What the fuck, loster." Hunter said as he adjusted himself.

"Hunter, what do you know about what happened at The Owl House." Luz asked as soon as Hunter got adjusted.

"Why do you think I know everything?" Hunter says as he rolls his eyes.

"Please Hunter, I need to know." Luz stated.

Hunter looks at her for a second, "I'm not telling you shit."

"So you do know something," Luz said angrily.

"Maybe but it's not like imma tell you."

"Hunter what the fuck is wrong with you. You realize how fucked up that is, you know something that could help a lot of people and you're keeping the information as some sort of blackmail." Luz paused, "Please you don't know how much this mean to me." 

"Boscha might know something." And with that Hunter grabbed his stuff and left to the back of the bus with his friends.

"Wait, so Boscha might know something?" Luz decided to tell the group at lunch.

"That's what Hunter said." Luz started.

"Well he isn't exactly a beacon of truth. He could just be lying." Amity said, who was seated right next to her girlfriend.

"Well we could try to get more information out of him," Gus said across from Luz. 

"How? We're lucky we even got this out of him." Willow said next to Gus.

"We could blackmail him." Amity interjected.

"How?" Luz didn't want to blackmail him but it was for The Owl House.

"Well he has dirt on everyone, there has to be someone who has something on him but can't say anything." Amity said.

"Yeah maybe," Luz and the group talk about who could have information and how they would bring up the subject to him.

Did Hunter know why he told Luz about Boscha? No. Maybe he kinda felt bad about what happened. He could've stopped it from happening but he didn't and it was eating him alive. If he let this slide then how was he any better than Philip. He wanted to tell Luz everything, tell her that he drew the picture for the vandalism piece and the people who robbed the shop but he couldn't. He just couldn't.

When he went to Darius's class on the next Monday he saw that Luz wasn't in the room and seated in the back. When Luz entered she sat right next to him. Hunter felt his pulse quicken. He really wanted to just blurt it out, that it was Boscha and her friends.

"Hunter, what did Boscha do?" Luz was getting straight to business.

"Luz, I really can't tell too." Luz looked surprised. This was the first time that she has ever heard him call her by her name. Hunter had wanted to tell someone all weekend but there was no one there who he could tell. He tried to bring himself to tell anyone but for some reason he couldn't, no one would listen to him but he really wanted to. It would be weird if he did tell, he wasn't one to snitch, but nothing has been this big.

"Hunter please, I'll do anything." Luz had been trying all weekend to get something on Hunter but the guy wasn't an open book.  Hunter looked around a bit. "Hunter please." Luz looked like she was going to cry, maybe that broke Hunter. The look in her eyes, but Hunter decided that it was because he felt awful about what happened.

"Meet me behind the school today, you little friend group can watch but they have to stay a distance away." Hunter couldn't keep this in any longer. He wanted to just tell something, it was eating him alive.

Luz was now smiling, she looked like she hadn't in days, her hair messy, she had faint bags under her eyes, and she looked like she was about to break. "Thanks Hunter, you don't know how much this means to me." 

"Yeah whatever, you can't tell anyone that I told you anything though." Hunter said.

"Okay!" Luz said with a smile. 

The rest of the day was awful. He felt like he was going to break anytime he saw Luz, or hell even Lilith and Eda. He looked awful too, his eyes had darker bags under them, he was really jumpy, and his hair was a mess. He knew that he would break soon. 

When the end of the day came he was feeling doubtful about telling luz. But he couldn't turn back. He had to do this.

"Hunter," Luz greeted.

"Noceda," Hunter said.

"What can tell me?"

"I have something the proves that Boscha was there that night. The other four I might have an idea but I only know for sure that Boscha was there." Hunter stated.

"What do you have?" Luz askes with hope in her voice.

Hunter then pulled out his phone and showed Boscha admitting the crime and asking Hunter to join.

"Omg!" Luz exclaimed, "This is exactly what we need." But she paused, "She asked you to join but you didn't?" To which Hunter just nodded. "Why?"

"I've done fucked up things but that seem even more fucked. Clawthron and Whispers litterally live right above the store and had no idea what was happening. They also have a son who lives with them I don't think I would want to scare them." Hunter said.

Luz smiled at him. Maybe he's not so bad. She thought.
