Mariah third POV

Mariah had gotten home from work and looked at the time, she realized that she'd have to pick Jayden up soon so she couldn't totally relax.

Jayden is her only child, and though she didn't mean to get pregnant she never regretted having him, he was a one-night stand gone wrong but luckily he looks nothing like his father. The only thing he got from him was his love of books.

He is her pride and joy and she wouldn't have it any other way. While she's at work though he stays with her friend behind the bar in the kitchen while she dances. If she stays too long or if a high buyer wants to take her home she has him stay the night with a friend and picks him up in the morning from daycare

She dropped her bags in her closet for later to sort and started getting ready. She doesn't do much other than take a shower and changes her clothes to something comfortable since she doesn't plan on going anywhere yet.

As she was getting her things ready to leave Aaliyah texted. She and the brunette started becoming closer talking often, not in a flirtatious way all the time (though Mariah didn't hesitate to drop a few flirtations lines here and there for fun)

She'd talk to her about work and about her friends, and Aaliyah would do the same, they sometimes would get a drink together when they could

They became like a package deal when they went out together, you couldn't see the brunette without the dancer and vice versa, they went together perfectly like they'd know each other forever. Though she hasn't told her about Jayden worried about what she'll think of her even more, she isn't ashamed of him just a little ashamed of being a stripper and a mother.

She looked at her phone and smiled at Aaliyah's contact photo, a picture of them shopping she took when the brunette wasn't looking

Brown eyes 🤎- Are you busy today? If not I wanna hang out

Mariah- Should I?

Brown eyes 🤎- I think you should, I'd like to see you again

Mariah- I'll think about it, no promises though

Mariah smiled at her phone and put it in her pocket and left her apartment after grabbing all of her things

She got in her car and drove to pick up Jayden listening to music, when she arrived at the daycare she got out and walked inside hearing the bell chime as the door closed. The daycare was big- and very expensive-and had lots of rooms for different age groups. she signed Jayden out and walked to the 1-3-year-old room and opened the door.

The room was a pale yellow and had animals all over with baby-proof things over everything. It looked like a kid could get lost in there but she knew exactly where to find hers. She walked over to the bookshelf and sure enough, Jayden was sitting right there looking at a picture book.

She smiled seeing him so emerged in the book even though it had no words, she kneeled down next to him and looked at the book "Whatcha reading?". Jayden jumped as he turned to face the person that scared him but once he realized it was his mother he smiled as best as he could with just gums and hugged her.

"Hello my little serpent, ready to go?" Jayden nodded and they walked out to the car, once she got him in his car seat she handed him his little tablet and drove home

When they arrived she placed him on the floor so he could crawl around and sat on the couch. She went through her Instagram to see how her posts went since that was another way she made money.

Once she saw everything was good she texted Aaliyah

Mariah- What time?

Brown eyes🤎- how about 30 minutes?
