Forests are a place of curiosity and wonder. They hold secrets untold and mysterys yet to be discovered. And the thick floura may hide the best secret of all.
Jasper always hung out in the forest, usually with a friend. He didn't really like being alone, but it was nice to be alone every once in a while. The sounds of the birds, the swaying of the trees, and the sounds of the foliage blowing in the soft winds.
His friends couldn't make it, off with their boyfriends and girlfriends alike. Nobody had time to hang out anymore. Especially with a single, not so great, idiot like him. Maybe he was better off online, with people he would never really get to know.
He laid across a old log, thick with moss. He heard the call of crows, as they started circling above. Hunting.
Although, there arnt many things for the birds to hunt anymore. The populations of small animals are tiny in this part if the woods. Jasper was about 30 meters from a dirt path through the forest. The path wasn't very popular but was used enough where animals would avoid it. He watched as a crow dived down, a small humming bird flew past by him. The crow veered at it, squawking loudly as it flew.
And the humming bird, hit a far tree.
Jasper winced as it hit, its limp body falling to the ground, swallowed by a group of buttercups. The crow quickly landed and searched the ground. Jasper hurried to try and save the little guy, and scrambled to the patch.
"HEY! LEAVE IT ALONE!" He yelled. The crow refused to listen and started plucking the petals off the flowers. Jasper threw a stick near the feathered devil, and it spooked it away. Jasper hurried over to the buttercups, and carefully looked through the mess of green.
Down by the base of the tree he parted the flowers to find one heavier then the others. He gently lifted the flower, he felt the bird shift inside, he carefully plucked it, keeping the humming bird inside.
Jasper carefully carried the little flower down the path. He was planning to go back to his apartment and help the little bird. As he walked, he searched what humming birds required.
The flower in his hand shifted, he could feel it start to shiver, probably cold, even though it was warm enough for him to wear a short sleeve shirt and cargo pants. He covered the creature with his hand to warm it.
"Don't worry, almost there." Jasper whispered to himself mostly, he stumbled up the stairs to his flat and took out his keys. The shaking in his hand grew stronger as the door drew open. He entered and closed the door behind him. He carefully set a napkin down on the kitchen table and placed the flower on top. He left and prepared some sugar water in a plastic bottle cap. He poured the water in a water filter and leaned on the counter in wait.Ivan was panicking, he did what he normally did, totally not stalking the human that kidnapped him, and was chased by a crow only to break his fucking Wing!!!! He was so distracted that he managed to get caught, and have no way to escape and was trapped in a god damn flower. If his day couldn't get any worse, he was on a bumpy ride up stairs leaning on his uncomfortable broken wing with sweat dripping off his body. Every step, wincing in pain. The human probably doesn't mean it but still, HOW FUCKING DARE HE!
Ivan shook from nerves, every atom in his body freaking out from adrenaline and fear. Ivan could feel his heart beat quicken as he heard the humans soft voice and the sound of keys jingle outside. He repositioned himself comfortably and heard commotion outside. He felt himself lowered onto a thin cushion and the humans footsteps leave. He heard water running and dripping. Is this his time to leave? While the human is distracted?Jasper watched as a wing poked out from under the flower petals. He silently went over to the flower. It slowly tried to climb out, but couldn't. Did it need help? He took his finger and carefully brushed the wing. He heard it squeak inside and curl its wing back.
"It's OK, I'm here to help." Jasper spoke quietly. He gently moved the flower petals and revealed what was inside, what looked to be a tiny human with... were those hummingbird wings? Jasper flung to the wall and sucked in all the air he could and unintentionally held his breath. He recalled the look of terror on the lil guys face, those electric blue eyes and blonde hair with streaks of blues and greens. He only caught his breath when the flower moved a bit.
"Hey, hey. Save your energy." He told them, it came out a little more louder then what he hoped for. The flower stopped moving.
