The little seven year old skips down the sidewalk. She hums happily to herself just so no one would know of her pain. She didn't like her life. She wanted to end it.
"Hey, (y/r/n)!" The girl turns around to see a boy following her.
"Hi," she fakes a smile. She looked at the boy who called himself her friend. "What are you doing, here, Jack?"
"I'm walking home with you!" He smiles.
"Why?" She asks. No one ever wanted to walk with her. No one even wanted to look at her.
"Because I like you," Jack says. "I enjoy seeing your smile."
(Y/r/n) smiled. This smile wasn't fake though. She has never had a reason to actually smile in two years. The children kept silent and walked to their houses. They were neighbors so they didn't live far.
"Bye (y/r/n)!" Jack calls before he enters his house.
"Bye..." the girl enters her own home and races to her bedroom. But before she was able to get there, she got pulled back and fell.
"Where were you?!" The woman asks.
"W-walking," the girl answers and stands up.
"You're home late!" The woman yells.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to come home late! I was just walking!" She tries to explain. The woman slaps the girl.
"Don't you yell at me!" Her mother says.
"Stop! Please!" (y/r/n) pleaded. She kept her eyes closed. This happened to her every day for the past two years but she still wasn't used to it. Her mother only abused her when her father was working.
"Shut up brat! That's all you ever do! Plead!" Her mother yells. The door opens and you quickly take the chance to run to your room.
"What happened?" A male voice asks.
"I was just talking to (y/r/n) about her day," her mother lies. The girl sat against her closed door listening to the conversation between her parents. Her mother was full of lies.

"You remember all those years I abused you?" The girl's mother asked.
"Yes mother," the girl says trying to be obedient and not sound scared.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what I was doing," the mother says. "I know it's too late to say my sorrys but I really am. I don't know why I would abuse my daughter.
"It's okay mom, really," (y/r/n) says.
"I guess I was only testing how far you would go to defending yourself," the woman says. "You never went past yelling and pleading. Never fight back."
The woman coughed for a few minutes.
"Mom? Are you okay?" The girl asks. "Need me to call dad?"
"No, I'm fine," she says. The two hear a knock on the door and the girl opens it.
"Hello, is your mother home?" A man asks.
"Mom?" The girl calls.
"What is this all about?" The mother asks when two men are seated along with her daughter.
"Well, you see Mrs. (Y/r/l/n), your 16 year old daughter is very intelligent and we want to take her in for experimenting, for the disease that is spreading as you know," the first man explains.
"What is this disease called anyways?" The mother coughs again.
"The flare," the second man says. "And if you agree to this, your family will be one of the first to get the cure that your daughter will be working for."
The woman looks at her daughter who nods.
"She'll do it," she says.
"Good," the first man says. The second man whispers something to him. "Well (y/r/n), let's get going."
"Now? I have to pack!" (y/r/n) says.
"No need to pack," the second man says. "We have it all ready for you."
"Oh," she says. "Okay then."
"Say your goodbyes and meet us outside."
The two men exited the house leaving the girl and her mother alone.
"I guess this is it, mom," (y/r/n) say. "Tell dad I love him."
"I will," the mother says hugging her daughter.
"I love you mom."
"I love you too, sweetie."
