Jake woke up that morning without any memories of the day prior.

Last time he was awake he had been in his childhood tree-house on the verge of passing out, scared of the person talking to him.

And now, the boy was lying on his bed in his room in his house with no idea how he had got there.

He sat up and looked at his bedside table. It was exactly how it was before he left for school on that day.

His phone was plugged into the socket and was placed on his desk. There was a note lying next to it folded.

Jake picked it up and began to read it, curiosity filling his head as his fingers flicked the paper to reveal its full length and the words written inside of it.

It read, I know you're probably recovering but when you feel better can we talk :). Sadly, whoever had wrote the message forgot to sign their name.

A knock came from the bedroom door after Jake finished examining the note. "Come in." He responded as his mother entered his room.

"Good morning Jake. I'm glad to see that your awake now!" She smiled as she brought some water into his room and placed it on his side table.

"Thanks, I'm happy to see you again mom." He smiled, and for what felt like the first time in ages, it wasn't fake.

"Come down in a bit so I make something for you." She said as she went to leave. "Hey mom.." Jake started.

His mothers head turned as she looked at her son. "Do you know who might of wrote this?" Jake's mother stood there as she thought of an answer to her child's question.

"There was this girl who walked in with you yesterday to help you get to your room.. it probably was her." She replied.

Jake sat there, puzzled. He only had a few friends that were girls, and he had reasons to believe it wasn't any of them.

"What did she look like?" He asked as soon as he realised that the chances of him figuring out when everything else already confused him were very fucking low.

"I only saw her for a second," his mom exclaimed. "But she had blue hair."

Part of the previous day came back to Jake that moment. When the voice was climbing up the tree-house stairs, only to reveal Hailey at the top.

The fact that after everything, she still showed some thought of genuine care for the boy. The fact she wanted to know why he was there.

It had been Hailey. No doubt about. "You got it?" His mother asked. "Yeah, thanks mom." He responded as she left the room.

Jake immediately picked up his phone, rereading the note in his hand as he did. '..when you feel better can we talk'  Well he didn't fully feel better, but he felt like he owed her the full truth.

Even if that decision ended up being the worst possible choice...

Hailey headed straight upstairs to her room after finishing her dinner. She had told herself it was for a number of different reasons, but deep down it was purely to see if Jake had responded.

At first, she thought she was just checking her phone constantly because she was worried if he was okay. And that was true. But overtime, curiosity began to become the main motive.

Hailey desperately wanted to know why he had ran away. Surely it couldn't be because of the club. Maybe that was a secret, second reason. If there was, maybe she wouldn't feel the levels of guilt that she was.
