What Happened?

Chapter 8

—Two Weeks after London Eye—

—Emmi's POV—

Ever since Mommy surprise us with the money from the president I have felt like something big changed. We are now back in the states and we are on our normal schedule but, mom and dad seem a little wierd. Like they are keeping something from us kids. Maybe mom is having another baby, or we are moving again (which I hope we aren't), or I don't even want to know. Other than that life has been normal, except for the part that Carlie found a new guy and seems to be betraying Cooper and leaving him with us, which is a little wierd for Carlie to do. Tonight we are going to Grandma and Grandpas for dinner and grandma isn't letting Carlie bring Tryler over because she spends too much time with him.

"Dad, What time are we going to grandmas?" I ask

"2 minutes, get in the car" He replies

I grab my stuff and head to the car. I am thinking about talking to Carlie about what is up but I don't want it to be wierd.

—At grandmas—

"Carlie?" I hollered through the house,

"YEs?" She replied

"Come here please." I said. I hear her footsteps.

"Yes Emmi." Carlie said as she walked in,

"Carlie, I am worried that you are too concentrated on your relationship with Tryler, and you are betraying the family especially Coop." I said.

"I didn't know that you felt that way. Is that why grandma would let Tryler come tonight?" she said,

"Yes. Everyone in the family has noticed that you haven't been with us as much as usual and that when Cooper is supposed to be with you he is with us." I said

"Oh, I guess I should go say sorry to the family and tell them that I will spend an equal amount of time with all of you guys." She said. We both get up and head to the living room where everyone is watching the Back To The Future trilogy. 

"Someone pause the movie please, I need to talk to you guys." She said, "Emmi told me that you have all noticed that I am spending more time with Tryler than with you guys. I am sorry that I have left you guys, I want to still be the same person, so I want to spend an equal amount of time with all of you guys." She finished.

—The next day—

This morning mom and dad woke me up this morning but the sky was brighter than it usually is when I go to school, which is really wierd. I am so confused. What the heck. I decide I am going to sneak downstairs to see if Avia, and Gavin are still home. Brock is in his bed like always when I leave for school. I make my way down the stairs and into Avia's room, she is sitting on her bed all confused also, "Why is it sunny out?" she said. "I was wondering the same thing", I walk out of Avia's room into Gavin's he is on his bed reading a book, he seems like he knows something that Avia and i don't. 

"Gavin, whats going on?" I ask,

"Don't tell mom or dad that I told you this, when they surprise Avia, Brock and you act surprised." Gavin's normal voice turns into a whisper, "Mom and Dad, are planning to take us on a road trip around the US, and then go to the other continents. They wanted to surprise you because they didn't know if you would be ok with it." He finished.

"Seriously, I don't understand. Do they think I would be upset to go on a road trip? That's crazy" I say

"Don't tell avia, act normal around her." He says.
