Lay Me Down

Ethan's P.o.v

It's been a week since my mom first got into the hospital. So far the doctors don't know what's wrong with her. Currently I was in her room with a blanket over me watching some infomercial. I grabbed my phone off the desk beside me. Mitchell and Alexis were texting me telling they were coming later .

I just want to know who the hell is taking the precious time to torture me. I've never done anything to anyone. I looked out the window that gazed over the thick everglade of woods and small shops that surrounded the hospital. Rising from my seat I walked over to my mother and grabbed her hand. Allowing the tears to splutter from my eyes.

"Come on Mom , wake up for me" I cried.

I heard the door open and turned around to see who it was. Wiping my eyes I saw Carly come in followed by Alexis. I saw Alexis' cheeks stained with old tears. She walked further in and they both pulled up a seat. Alexis was the first person who decided to speak.

"Hey mommy, how's the coma, not that it matters cause you're gonna be awake soon, right." She questioned with tears in her eyes.

Carly simply sat there not showing emotion as always. As long as I've known her I've never seen her cry. She always wore this serious face. She opened her file and pulled out some papers. Letting out a deep sigh she looked up. Her tears now present but she quickly wiped then away.

"Next week, there is a ceremony to commemorate the ones who gave there lives to save our town ." She said.

Alexis snatched her head to the side.

"You mean the fire" Alexis said.

"Yes, and they want you and Ethan to speak tomorrow, along with Mitchell." She said.

"Why do they want us to speak" Alexis asked.

"Because one all of you had something to do with the fire" She said.

That statement alone made my entire body freeze over. I looked at Alexis and saw her freeze up too. She looked at me and I looked at her.

**flashback**

Walking along the street me and Cameron walked behind Alexis and Travis. We were coming from the movies and she we decidee to just browse the stores. We were all laughing and smiling .

We were happy.

A group of guys came running down the street beside us with gas in there hands spreading it across the roads . Travis brabbed Alexis and they rushed for me and Cameron. We all started to sprint back but the guys broke up and ran around spreading the gas wherever they could .

"RUN" Travis yelled at us.

He grabbed Alexis and kissed her before he looked up at me. I nodded my head and grabbed Alexis. Cameron running in front of us. We looked behind us to see Cameron flashing us a smile before he pulled out a lighter. He looked at the guys across the street and the lighter slowly slippee from his fingers. He broke into a sprint as the flame engulfed the road. Once reaching us he grabbed Alexis and we ran for the cinema to warn the people.

Boooooommmmmm!!!!!!!

"Ahhhhhhh"We yelled as we fell to the ground.

Looking back I watched as the fire began to engulf buildings and people began to scurry.
Travis looked back at us and kissed Alexis on the forehead once again . But this time , I saw a tear fall from his eye.

"Don't leave please" Alexis Cried.

"Clear your tears, I hate seeing you cry" he told her.

She looked up at him as he let go of her hand. He ran into the burning building to help out with the firefighters. As the sirens begin to encircle us and the rest of the town. Alexis grabbed onto me and we turned around. Rushing back to the movie theater. The outside was crowded with worried citizens looking at the fire. We all turned around and simply watched the tragedy unfold before us.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and I pulled it out. Alexis and Cameron pulled their phones out too.

" Now I lay me down to sleep.I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake,
I pray to God my soul to take. If I should live for other days, I pray the Lord to guide my ways. Father, unto thee I pray, Thou hast guarded me all day; Safe I am while in thy sight,Safely let me sleep tonight. Bless my friends, the whole world bless; Help me to learn helpfulness; Keep me every in thy sight;
So to all I say good night."

As I watched my screen water dropped . I felt my face and felt the tear that had fell. But more came and before I knew it we were being drenched in rain.

This was somehow our fault. But someone , came and rescued us. Redeemed us, and now we will lay him down. In an eternal grave.

**flashback over**

Alexis sat in my room staring about the window once again. I got up and went to my computer pulled up my speech.

"Have you written yours yet" I asked.

She turned around and looked at me.

"I'm talking about someone who I loved dearly , I'm going to speak from the heart."

I smiled and turned back around . I felt my phone buzz thinking it was Mitchell I picked it up.

"If you speak next week ,
I'll be laying someone down that night.
Chose carefully or someone might die.
Have a nice night."

I turned around with a tear in my eye. Alexis got up and left cause her mother was here.

"Bye Lexi." I waved.

Once closing the door I sunk to my feet.

"UGHHHHHHHHHH" I yelled throwing my phone.

Alright guys just wanted to give some info on Travis. And who is giving out dear Ethan such a hard time.
Tbh I don't even know.
