As I walked along the path to the entrance alongside Diluc, I was greeted by Adelinde. "Hello, Master Diluc, and Ms. Y/N!" She smiled. "Hello! How are you doing today?" I smiled back, stopping to have a quick conversation with her as Diluc greeted her with a slight nod, and continued walking in. "I am quite alright, thank you for asking. Where were you two?" She asked. "We were just fighting monsters, just regular everyday things!" I grinned. "Hm." I now looked, wondering if she was bothered. "Is everything alright?" I asked, concerned. "Yes, of course. He just never willingly.. 'hangs out' with people, unless they are close with him. Are you two close?" She asked. "I mean," I thought for a moment. "We've been friends since we were teens, so yeah!" I shrugged. "That explains it. Well, I'm going to go clean around, goodbye!" She waved, smiling. "Goodbye, Adelinde!" I waved, walking inside. I look over at Diluc, who was leaning against the counter, with two glasses of grape juice. "Sorry, I was talking with Adelinde." I laughed nervously. "I heard." He mumbled, taking a sip out of his cup. "Why do you like spending time with me?" I asked, remembering what Adelinde had said. Although we were close, some people viewed me as annoying. Diluc is a quiet, serious man, whereas I am the opposite. I am loud, obnoxious, rarely serious. And some people would say I am childlike. So why would someone like him want to spend time with me? How does he put up with me? He set his cup down. "Why do you ask?" I glanced away. "Well.. I mean, we've been friends for a while, and some people don't like how I am and we're polar opposites, so I tho-" He cut me off. "SOME people. I am not part of that group. While I am a quiet person, that does not mean I have to only hang around quieter people. I like you just the way you are, you are a great friend. And before judging someone, you have to truly get to know and understand them." He took another sip of his grape juice, as I stared in shock.
