This was the tenth move for Max. A new town a new school a new house a new room but no new friends. That would be to dangerous. Never let anyone know. Being a werewolf was hard enough but not letting anyone figure it out... well that was harder. Max was lying on her bed. Her white walls empty, the floor covered in brown boxes all different sizes and some opened others stacked four or five high. A brown dresser with all four drawers open and her clothes hanging out. Max sighed and sat up. "Come in." Her bedroom door opened and in walked Max's father. He was tall dark haired and very handsome. His blue eyes shined with joy. "Even after all these years you still amaze me." Max smiled lightly. "Yeah well sometimes I wish I could stop being amazing." The smile on her dad's face never waved but the light in his eyes dropped. There was an awkward beat of silence between them, before Max spoke. "Mom's coming." She and her dad looked at the door, not even a second later her mom walked through. She was a couple inches taller then Max. She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and had her strawberry blond hair pulled into a loose pony tail. "So I'm thinking take away. You guys feel like pizza or Chinese?" Max laughed. "I think it would be best if we avoided the Chinese. We don't want a repeat of last time." Everyone in the room started laughing at the memory. "Okay, pizza it is!"
Max and her parents sat on the ground around their make-shift table of a couple of boxes shoved together. Two boxes of pizza on the surface. One pepperoni the other an extra meat lover. Max's mom and dad shared the pepperoni while Max devoured the extra meat lover. After finishing that last slice of her pizza Max licked her fingers clean and pushes the box away. "I'm hungry." She declares. Her mom and dad simply laugh. "You always are." Said her mother. Max opens her mouth to reply when she stopped, she turned her head to face the door. Max sniffed the air. Her parents stared at her trying to be as quiet as possible. Knowing full well that Max didn't need them to. A smile crept across Max's face. She turned to her parents and said. "Time to meet the neighbors." Her parents looked at each other with a smile passing between the two.

The door bell rang a few minutes after Max had spoken. The family had been in the kitchen cleaning. The visit had been excepted. Especially in a small town. The news of a new family would soon spreed, and in small towns there was a sort of mannerism that didn't happen anywhere else. Max who had been in her room bounded down the stairs to reach the door before her parents. She landed lightly right in front of the door and her parents. They didn't seem surprised that she had just made a great jump from the first landing. "Well someone looks excited to meet the neighbors." Said her mom. Max stood and smiled. "I don't know what they have but it smells amazing." And with that she turned and opened the door. Five people stood on their door step. Two small children in front were dressed identically. Max guessed that they we're twins. The one on the right was wearing a blue striped shirt and brown slacks, the one on the left was wearing a identical green shirt and matching slacks. Behind them a woman with blond hair pulled into a tight bun. She was wearing a pink skirt that looked like something straight out of the 80s her black top completed the look. Standing next to her was a man with black hair and blue eyes, her wore a green solid color shirt and black slacks. Behind him was a teenage boy who looked like he was a Hollister model. He had brown hair and green eyes, he gave off an air of not wanting to be there. Max smiled and said "Hello." The woman was the first to talk, her insanely white smile giving Max a headache. "Hi there." Her high pitched voice made Max groan internally, her voice was annoying if you had regular hearing but Max's hearing was not normal. Max felt as if her ears would start bleeding. "I'm Jenny, and this is my husband Mike." Mike reached past Max and shook her dad's hand. "If your ever looking for a place to let off some steam me and and the guys have a nice little country club." "Uh yeah thanks." Max had to stifle her laugh her dad playing golf. Ha! Never. Jenny continued. "And these are our sons. Jake is that oldest and these are the twins. Nate and Flynn." The boys smiled. "Nice to meet you." They said in perfect unison. as if they had rehearsed it. "Oh, um." Said Max's dad stumbling over his words. "I'm Tommy, this is Peggy, and this is our daughter Max." He finally manged to get out. Max smiled. "It's nice to meet you all." Said her mom. Jenny smiled and looked at Max. "Max is a nice name is is short for anything?" Max got the idea that Jenny was a traditionalist. "Nope." Said Max. "Just Max." Jenny's smile never wavered but something in her eyes changed. Her gaze lingered on Max for a few more seconds before moving on. "And I'm I right for assuming that Peggy is short for Margret?" "yes that right." Said Peggy. "And Tommy is for Thomas." She continued. "Mhh." Was the only reply that Tommy gave. There was a beat of awkward silence "Oh well I just love getting to know new folks! I baked a fruit cake! Alright bye!" She handed the fruit cake to Max and then waved with that cheesy smile still plastered on her face. Tommy and Peggy didn't have a chance to thank her before she turned with out a word and walked off.
Sorry It's a short chapter but the story will get rolling soon! Promise!
