"So why was this meeting so urgent? You need another lie so Christian doesn't find out that you really don't work for me?" Michael asked as he folded his hands over his desk.

"Um no actually this is about a job opportunity that I think you can help me with" I said.

"A job opportunity? Explain" he said.

"So I've heard that you are opening up a new business in LA and I want in" I said.

"You want in? You realise this is a legit company and not just no knock around job right? You can't just want in" he said.

"I know I know"

"You don't even know what kind of company that I'm trying to open up you just jumping at the opportunity. Let me guess this is for Christian"

"No it has nothing to do with him, I just want to get a shot at a new job opening" I said.

"If that was the case you could've just asked me for something in the area. You just asked me for something all the way in LA" he said.

I didn't say anything because he was right. I was doing all of this for Christian it wasn't no other reason that I had to move to LA besides Christian.

"What job experience do you have?"

"I mean I'm a manager at Walmart and I work as a waitress in a diner" I said.

"What does your manager job consist of?"

"Well I supervise the front end, make schedules sometimes, assist with customers, count money, check supplies in the stores. I been there a long time so I do a lot of things there. I should just run the whole store at this point" I said.

"You know I run a law firm right? And you think you working at a Walmart and a diner is going to get you in here?" He said.

"No I think my skills and me being such a hard worker is going to get me a fighting chance. Just because I work at a Walmart and a diner that doesn't mean I'm stupid or something it just means I didn't have the same opportunities that you may have had Mr. I went to Harvard Law School and my parents paid for everything" I said to him.

"Ok you right"

I didn't expect him to to know anything about actually struggling. Michael was rich and stable soon as he came out the womb, but that is because his parents were very successful in their careers. Most of his families is lawyers or work in the criminal justice field. His life was already set up for him before it even started.

"I'm going to take you up on your offer. I want to see what you can do. Since you say you good at managing you going to manage me. I guess you can say you actually becoming my little assistant now. I'm not going to just start you off in one of my newest projects until I feel comfortable that you can do good over there. Sign these forms and stuff so I can have an official confirmation that you are working here and you start tomorrow so be on time and wear something that is more casual and not just some jeans and a shirt" he told me as he placed a pen and the papers in front of me.

I read over the forms and signed the papers.

"Thank you so much I will not let you down" I said and I got up to walk out of his office.

"Ay Devin" he said before I left out the door.

"Don't lose yourself trying to impress Christian or live a life that is not you, it wouldn't hurt to be yourself you know" he said. I just nodded my head and continued out the door.

I was being myself around Christian the only thing I really lied about was my occupation and my education which isn't that serious. I'm still being me.

After that I went to my apartment and started looking at some business casual clothes. While I was looking for the clothes I got an email about what I would really be doing. He also sent me the log in information to his email and stuff.

I decided to be proactive and set up his schedule for him making sure I did it the way he wanted it.  He had a couple of meetings with clients and other business moves that I scheduled for him and made sure to set a reminder to get his lunch and other shit delivered.

He was a very busy man, but if I handled schedules and other shit at Walmart I feel like I got this in the bag.

I ordered some stuff and I decided to go to the mall to get some more stuff.

I don't know why I was lowkey so excited. I just finessed my way into working in one of the most successful man's law firm and I might be moving to LA soon to work in one of his new projects. I can't believe I actually succeeded.

Life was starting to look a little different for me and get more exciting.
