Four months later

Michael was shocked at how fast Devin picked up on the job. She was really good at what she does and he can tell that she is very passionate just by working with her over the past couple of months. She managed his schedule well and he wasn't going easy on her. Devin even had helped him with some ideas of her own and he took them and put them into his new project in LA. It came out really good. He was opening an office in LA for public relations. Michael was a damn good lawyer and his business was one of the top law firms in New York which meant he had a lot of people coming to him asking for help on getting a better look for their business.

He already made the decision to have Devin manage it. Her dating life might be a little complicated since she was trying to keep up with Christian and his lifestyle but she was a different person when she was in work mode and he admired that about her. From the way she talked and dressed up all business like which he never seen before prior to this, in his head she was a beautiful women. There was no doubt that he didn't think about her and he always contained his excitement when going to the office knowing she was going to be there. Yeah he messed with one of her best friends but they weren't really that exclusive they were just enjoying each other's company, but him and Devin bonded over these little couple of months of working together. Michael knew Devin was still with Christian, so he stayed respectful and kept his distance. He just wanted Devin to know that she was beautiful the way she is and she didn't have to change for nobody. He wanted to help her see that and embrace it with her.

Devin being all about Christian was oblivious to the fact that Michael was kind of falling for her. She wouldn't even pay attention to some of the little comments he would make about her being beautiful. Besides the comments Michael made sure he didn't overstep too much. Devin was really falling for Christian and he was too. She broke him out of his hard shell a little bit and he was turning into a softy around her but he still had his asshole personality. Christian treated Devin like a queen and made sure to remind her of it everyday. Since she was so caught up on her new life she was trying to live, her and her friends weren't really keeping in contact. Managing Michael's schedule and being his assistant meant she had to travel too. She accumulated a couple of rich friends that were totally out of her league but she tried her best to fit in and while she was doing that she was blowing off her other friends in the process without even trying to. Too much was going on around her and she was just trying to keep up.

Currently her and Michael was in the office talking about the plans for the day.

Devin

"So you have a meeting later on with Mr.smith about the approaching court date and don't forget that you got to sign these forms today so I can have them processed before the day is over" I told Michael as I held my clipboard and read off my to do list.

"Ok and what about it the new hires for the office in LA is their applications in? If so I want them printed out so I can have a digital and a physical copy" he said.

"Already ahead of you. I printed out each application and gave them an individual folder labeled with their names. It got their picture and other information in there" I said.

"You're the best" he said.

"I'm good at what I do" I said and went to walk out.

"There's this dinner party later on tonight I'm having at my place for the team you should come" he said.

"What time?" I asked.

"Around 9:30"

"Ok I'll be there"

I went into my little office and called Christian. We been good for a while and the long distance been working itself out, but he always getting so hung up on his work.
