lumine and paimon had been waiting at liyue harbor's docks for hours. the crux fleet was supposed to have arrived with you ages ago- they were supposed to escort you back from liyue to mondstadt safely.

❝ paimon's scared; [y/n] should have arrived here a long time ago.. ❞

❝ hold on paimon, we don't want to panic just yet. if we tell people the creator hasn't returned back it could cause a international crisis. ❞ lumine reasoned, even though she was equally worried.

❝ yeah.. maybe they just got caught in bad weather or something..! ❞

the hours came to the point a whole day had passed since they started waiting.

❝ okay, now paimon's REALLY freaking out.. ❞

lumine started evaluating every situation she could think of.

❝ something has to be wrong, the crux is a tough crew, there's no way they could've just got stuck in mildly bad storms. did something happen in inazuma? ❞

❝ and there were no bad storms due in today anyway- this is really bad! we have no means of communication between inazuma. ❞ paimon cut in.

lumine started sprinting to the tiny waverider docked at the other side of the harbour, with paimon floating and trying to catch up with her speed.

❝ shouldn't we tell the qixing? ❞ paimon inquired.

❝ [y/n] could be dead by the time we manage to get through to them. ❞

paimon sighed and continued following,

you were approaching the coast of narakumi island to meet with the crux fleet when you heard a loud explosion. you ran up to see what was going on.

it smelt like burning wood and.. fireworks? weird. you swear you saw a figure running away in the corner of your eye: supposedly carrying a ignited arrow in their hand, bow in the other. you also think you spotted a suspicious looking ice trail moving out of your line of sight. it was dark and hard to tell.

there was a large chunk of the crux missing from the middle. it had flopped onto its side on the coast.

the crew emerged mostly unscathed, but a few unlucky people had a few burns.

❝ what the hell happened? ❞

❝ we don't know, ❞ beidou grimaced ❝ we only heard the firing of an arrow and the explosion. ❞

❝ is anyone hurt? ❞

❝ only a few burns, nothing horrible, but our ship definitely is not doing that great. ❞

she gestured to the barely holding up ship.

kazuha was getting his leg wrapped in a bandage by that first aid lady you saw in beidou's hangout quest and some others were unloading some things off of the ship where it wasn't burned.

❝ so you didn't manage to see who did it? ❞

beidou shook her head and sighed,

❝ no, but when i do, they're gonna regret it. cause that was definitely no accident. ❞ she said through gritted teeth.

walking up to kazuha you asked him if he was alright, and he just said,

❝ i'll be fine. this is nowhere as bad as the burn i have on my hand. ❞

guess you and the crux fleet will be staying in inazuma for a bit longer.

lumine swears she has never driven a boat so fast in her life. she arrived at narakumi island, basically fucking naruto running up to inazuma city to try find you.

meanwhile, you were at the tenryou police station with the crux fleet explaining what happened.

❝ they arrived at the coast and immediately got attacked. ❞

❝ with you in it? ❞ heizou asked worriedly.

❝ no ❞

he heaved the biggest sigh of relief you've ever seen in your life.

❝ okay that's fine then. ❞ he looked completely unphased after that. not caring that beidou was right next to you giving him the side eye.

you heard paimon screeching at the top of their lungs,

❝ oh thank fucking archons you're not dead. holy shit. ❞ lumine added, equally drained. she swears a lot now that the system isn't monitoring her speech.

she had to sit on the floor and take a breather while she listened to beidou relay the events and details to heizou.

❝ paimon's so hungry now from all that floating.. uyuu restaurant seems pretty appetising right now.. ❞

you thought about it for a few seconds and announced to everyone:

you don't know what you were expecting, but it wasn't for you, lumine and paimon to play card games while everyone else got absolutely wasted.

lumine kept staring at your face so it was really easy to see what cards she had when she got distracted, but somehow paimon kept on winning.

you three weren't technically allowed to drink.. so you resulted to playing card games for the night while the adults were having the time of their lives.

you were getting vivid flashbacks to when venti was so drunk he greeted you twenty times cause he kept forgetting you were there, before he threw up in the corner and you left in disappointment.

kazuha was doing his drunk kazuha thing, beidou was being loud and obnoxious and theres always that one person who cries when they get drunk. like really loudly. it was heizou lol
