Leo

I don't know how we ended up together in a bookstore holding hands but I don't complain. Honestly, she's amazing. I have this weird need to make her happy every time I see her so sad because it kills me.

"Omg, this is the paperback version of 'Better than the movies' by Lynn Painter," she says smiling like an idiot.

"You sound so enthusiastic, are you gonna buy it or look at it for an hour?" I say laughing but I stop when I realize she keeps looking at it with a sad face. "I don't have money right now, but that's not important, I have already the hardcover one. It's just that...It's my favorite book of all time," she answers holding her tears back. Today she is so vulnerable that I don't know what to do or how to handle her. She's not like this, she is so strong that she could rule the world. But right now all I can see it's a girl who wants to be loved by her father that doesn't even like her and I want to show her that she doesn't need him or anyone.

"For this time, I can buy you that one, it's not a problem," I say looking down at her and I see her smiling. And if it wasn't for this moment I would've never realized that I never saw her laughing or smiling so genuinely and this makes my heart do weird things. It hurts that she doesn't live so free and happy but it makes me so glad that I'm the one who makes her for a moment so short, happy. "You should buy one too. Wes Bennett reminds me of you," she says making it sound like a compliment.

"You like him?" I ask

"Like him? I love him. He's exactly what I'm looking for in a man. He told her that she is a fucking Taylor Swift song. I would die to have their love." she answers looking at me like I'm an idiot just because I have asked this question.

"So, this is your way to say that you love me? Glad to hear that but I already knew it." I say smirking while taking two copies of the book, one for her and one for me.

"That's not-" she cuts herself not knowing what to do if not blush. I made her blush. Daisy? The mean girl? Blushing? For a moment, nothing exists if not her.

"I made you blush. I'm pretty awesome, I know." I say laughing

"You, idiot. Just pay so I don't have to see you," she says still blushing,

"Whatever you say, love" I tease.

Daisy

"Give me your phone," he says not like a request but more like an order, and without arguing I offer it to him. He seems shocked because I didn't make a scene but I'm not really in the mood.

"Here, it's my number so we can talk about the book. If you have the need to call me, you always can," he explains and before he can say more I lean closer to him and we stay there in front of the bookstore looking at each other before he offers to take me home with his car.

"You have the CD of 'Lover' by Taylor Swift? You need to stop or I might fall in love with you." I say joking when he just replays "I love music, I think it's the best invention the man has ever created. You can express your feelings, where you can't form words, with a song. I'm not afraid to say that I love Taylor and that I relate to her." he looks so proud, it's so cute.

"Your favorite song by her?" I ask

"Gorgeous, it kinda reminds me of you," he answers with so nonchalance that kills me because right now I'm going crazy about what he said. I can't believe I did the same thing with him about Wes Bennett. I hate what he does to me.

"Chatty girl, we're at your home," he reminds me bringing me back from the world of dreams.

"So...Hi," I say embarrassed

"Hi," he replays softly "My contact is named 'The most intelligent man in the whole world' before you go crazy thinking I haven't put my number." God, he's so arrogant.

"What are you doing?" he asks when he sees me unlocking my phone and writing without getting out of his car and I simply reply "Changing in 'The most arrogant man'. I'm sorry, I had to make it shorter." He doesn't say anything, he just laughs and I lean closer to him to hear his laugh better because I think it's becoming my favorite sound. And before I can move to get into my house, he hugs me.

"What is this for?" I ask

"To remember your perfume," he mumbles under his breath.

Omg...

This boy...

His words...

And he adds "Goodnight, smartass"

But we stay there for another minute before he lets go and I just say "Goodnight, dumbass"
