everything has changed

chapter 7

Daisy

I can't even sleep one more minute that my phone starts to squill. It's Chloe, damn her.

"This was so important that you couldn't tell me that at school?" I said pretty angrily.

"I'm so so sorry, I was checking on you. I made a group for the movie night and I called to know if everything was fine. Are you okay?" she explains and I feel terrible because I yelled at her when she was just trying to be a friend to me. I don't know what to say, I can't explain to her that right now I don't care about anything that happened with my father because I can't stop thinking about Leo. We showed each other parts so vulnerable and so different from our usual. I can't tell her that because we're in a fake relationship and for her that would mean just that together we are more than fine.

 "I'm fine, absolutely," I replay sarcastically "I'm gonna check that damn group because my phone it's going crazy with all this notification, see you later," I add.

Why made a group when we talk so much at school? God, they're all driving me crazy.

Sunshine: HII EVERYONEEE! Sorry but I'm so happy for us to go out that I needed to do this group. Can't wait to see y'all!

Sunshine Protector: Don't worry, love. We love you so much that we don't complain.

The most arrogant man: Talk for you, man. Just because you're so obsessed with her doesn't mean that I love being bombarded with messages in the morning.

Me: I hate to admit that but the arrogant is right. Love you, Chloe. 

Sunshine: I'm so sorry, guys! Love y'all, see you at school.

Sunshine Protector: You two monsters.

And Chloe asks me why I named his contact "Sunshine Protector". That girl.

 "Hi... How are you, smartass?" 

Leo.

 I missed him. 

Huh?

 What I just said?

"HI, dumbass. Fine as always," I replay dryly.  I can't mention anything that happened yesterday because I'm so afraid that it didn't mean anything to him and in that way, I would ruin that memory. Because I don't wanna admit it but I got too attached to him. I was at my worst and he was there, trying to make me smile and looking at me like I was the only person that mattered and that existed in this immense world. 

"I kinda missed you, when I was alone in my bed and I was kinda scared for you. I wanted to call you but I didn't have your number so... I couldn't," he says embarrassed. And at that moment I knew that it meant something also for him.

"Love birds are you ready for another day?" Chloe why today you're so early, damn you.

"Daisy don't kill her with your look, she's talking about our test. Math," Charlie says dryly.

"Oh, shit. I forgot," I replay anxious. I was naturally smart, so I always worked smarter not harder but I have never not studied for a test. I can't believe that I forgot it. And what makes me angrier is that I would've remembered it if it wasn't for Leo. Fuck him. I need to stop this thing between me and him because I need to get into a college and I can't have any distraction. I know that Chloe said that it was okay for me to have some distractions and she was so glad that I was finally with someone. Yes, Leo was my first boyfriend and it was fake. So many boys were interested in me but I never really cared, I only wanted to get into a good college and have a brilliant future. Boys weren't allowed in my dream.

"It's okay, Daisy. You're so smart and you probably forgot because of what happened yesterday with your father. I think that if you explain that to our teacher, he understands." Chloe reminds me and I can do anything if not nod to what she says because I physically can't lie to her. I care too much to do that.

"I'm going home," I replay "I need to go home."

"I can give you a ride," Leo says

"You have an exam, don't worry about me," I remind him nervous

"I haven't studied either because of what happened yesterday between the two of us and when we got home it was too late. Now let go of your pride and let me accompany you so I'm sure nothing happens to you," he insists and I don't know what to say. He wants to make sure that I go home safely.

"Sure," I reply blushing while Charlie and Chloe keep giggling and smiling like idiots.

"Chloe, tomorrow I swear I'll kill you and Charlie you too. I never forget." I say trying to be as mean as usual but they just laugh and Charlie replies "Sure. When you stop blushing and babbling maybe." I hate them. And while I walk away, I show my precious middle finger.

"Love you too, Daisy," Chloe says laughing so loud.
