Your fingers ran over the smooth skin of your wrist, the exact opposite of what you wanted. You so longed for the day your mark would appear, the day you would find your soulmate.

It's not that you thought you needed them in your life, hell you didn't even know if you had one, but you wanted to see what they were like. There were so many possibilities! They could be your opposite, they could basically be you, you could actually hate them, etc.

"Are you thinking about your stupid soulmate again? Listen I'm telling you, if they haven't shown up yet then you probably don't have one!" Your friend told you with a sigh as she cuddled her soulmate.

"Yeah, I mean we met at NINE. Y/N, I think you're free to decide who you like." He responded while you simply sighed.

"But I don't KNOW who I like. I'm telling you, my prince is on his way... he's just stuck in a tree right now."

*TIME SKIP*

The arena buzzed with the sound of people chatting and yelling. Finally after years you'd get to see your favourite band live, and from the SECOND ROW!!! The giant tally marks currently on the back drop simply set the mood as you literally bounced with excitement. Your friend stood next to you, acting exactly the same way.

"I see Luke's hair I think." They squealed.
"Oh lord he's so HOT! Like, woof daddy."
Laughs were exchanged between the two of you.

"I'm not sure how your soulmate would feel about you saying that." You teased pointing to the macaroni noodle on their wrist. Her/his soulmate had a wedge of cheese on theirs and you literally thought those were the cutest soul mate tattoos ever.

"A girl/boy can dream."

The lights started to dim and you thought you were going to cry then and there. Feet appeared on the stage section in front of you. Combat boots that looked incredibly worn down, and you hoped belonged to your favourite member Michael. You know you shouldn't have gotten your hopes up, but you'd always found it funny how none of the boys but Calum had found their souls mates either. It gave you hope for your chances with Michael.
The first few notes hung in the air and you drank in the sound of it as you waited for the lights.

Light flooded the stage, and bright red hair appeared in front of you.

"It's Michael, Y/N!" Your friend screeched nudging you. For about an hour you just danced and sang/screeched to all of the songs. It was in the middle of Rejects that a sudden pain shot up your arm. A scream slipped past your lips, but you weren't the only one screaming.

Michael had stopped strumming and was bent over, gripping his arm in pain. Hisses escaped his lips as the other boys stopped playing and Luke rushed over.

"Mikey! What's going on?!"

Looking down at your arm you saw the words 'And back' with a crescent moon at the end.

Michael straightened up hesitantly, and on his arm there were words laced in a dark black ink. Everyone whooped and hollered, while you looked on in confusion and hope.

"It seems our little Mikey has finally found his soul mate! What's it say?"

"To the moon, with a crescent moon in the front."

In a moment of adrenaline the words slipped past your lips. "And back." Michael searched you out for a minute as you waved your arm. When your eyes finally met neither of you could contain the giddy grins on your faces.

All around the arena girls were shouting that it was them, but he knew that wasn't true. His soulmate was the girl/guy in front of him, the one with the most wonderful y/e/c eyes.

"You on the second row! Come on up." His voice rang out, quieting the girls. Your face was Crimson as you made your way up. He offered out a hand for assistance and you gladly took it. Once you were on stage you glanced at the audience and your heart leapt into your throat. There were so many people, so many fangirls who probably hated you.

"So uh hi soulmate."

You turned your gaze back to Michael and everything else seemed to fade away. His cheeks were the same light pink as yours and you grinned ever so slightly.

"So uh hi soulmate."
