20.|HOUSE PARTY|

It was tradition that in Audrei's family a house was given as a present for the 25th birthday. Now, in this particular case the girl had been pretty lucky: in fact her brother Chris already lived in a beautiful mansion in Italy with his fiancée Laura, so most of the money went in his sister's pockets.

Her childhood dream was to buy an apartment in the City of London, so without any hesitation a couple of days after her birthday she bought it.

<<Guys I am living the dream!!>>

<<What's going on???>> asked Catalina from the kitchen.

<<I bought it!>>

<<What did you buy?>> asked Henry interested.

<<THE house!!>>

<<Yes girl!>> yelled the two friends

<<Ok so everything's organised: everyone will furnish one room. I've already talked with Min's family, they're gonna take care of the living room...>>

<<Min? You mean you guys are gonna live together?? MORE ROOM FOR US!>> said Javier who, a few months earlier, had moved in with his boyfriend.

<<I mean... yeas... but little problem... He still doesn't know...>>

<<What! You literally bought a house and started to decorate it and you still don't know if he wants to go live with you?>> asked Catalina surprised

<<It will be a surprise for his birthday, you must keep it secret!>>

<<That's so sweet!>> exclaimed the Spaniard hugging her.

One month later the house was ready to move in and the half-Italian decided to show it to her friends.

<<So I have an update!!! The house is free from workers and they said we can move in... so this is what I thought.. I invited Emma, Jane, Gwen and Jodie for a small girl party and you, Catalina, must be there while Javier will stay with Min so he won't suspect anything.>>

<<What about me??>> asked Henry looking at his friend

<<You'll come with us of course.. wasn't it obvious??>>

<<I think it's perfect but when are we gonna see it?.... Like, us.. your other friends..>>

<<Oh yeah.. I organized that too... there will be a party, we'll be there when Min arrives.. so Henry you'll have to find a way to get him in and that's how we'll throw a party for his b-day...>>

<<I'll get a bottle of wine to share and then we can leave>> said Henry heading to the kitchen.

<<So are they already there or shall we go pick them up?>> asked Catalina once in the car. <<I gave them the adress so everything should be fine... oh hey here we are!!>> replied her friend.

<<Audrei!!!! Is this the house? It's beautiful!!>> yelled Gwen pointing to the incredibly tall skyscraper in front of them. <<I bet the inside is even better, can you immagine the view from the bedroom?>> considered Emma.

After a surprisingly quick elevator ride, the half-Italian opened the door and they saw a super modern house. Entered the door, after a small hall, a huge open-space opened in front of them; two steps separated the kitchen-living room from the dining room and there was also a area with a piano and a bookshelf with Audrei's books and Min's collection of trophies and helmets. Upstair, in the loft, there was an amazing bedroom and a studio and of course a room of the house was dedicated to the sim. All the furniture was modern and overall the house was very big and bright thanks to the stained glass windows.

<<And of course I brought Min's simulator here...>> concluded Audrei after the house tour. <<Oh my gosh! The sim's here!!!>> Jodie run off to the room to play and her friends followed her.

Friday, September 18th 2024.

It was very early in the morning when Audrei  left to go to work, Min was still sleeping so when he woke up she was long gone. In a normal day this wouldn't have been a problem, but since it was his birthday he had hoped she would've at least wished him 'happy birthday' before leaving. Now he was officially in a bad mood so he got up and went downstairs only to find Javier eating his breakfast alone because Henry had been streaming for more than an hour. <<Oh hey Min, Happy birthday!>> said the Spaniard when he saw the friend entering the room. <<Goodmorning, Thanks. Audrei is at work right?>> replied the Monegasque while making his food <<Yes, she left an hour and a half ago... why?>> Javier finished his cereal bowl and stood up <<nothing...>> said Min <<I was hoping she would have stayed a little longer at home so we could celebrate together...>>

<<I can understand that but you know how she is... I am sure she is putting in a lot of effort to make this a special day...>> then Javier picked up his jumper and left the apartment.

<<Ok guys, I am here... finally after a long day at work I can think about this party...>> said Audrei entering the door of the flat with her friends <<So, Javier and I already bought all of the decoration and the girls brought the food.. we just have to finish it up>> explained Catalina <<Thanks guys you're the best, let's just hope Henry can convince him to come and that he won't be too angry...>>

It was almost six in the evening when Henry reached his roommate in the livingroom; that day had been the longest ever, he streamed for a couple of hours and then he just stayed closed in the room bored to death so he had tried to work out a little bit but with the sim and the computers he didn't have enough space, he then called almost all his friends but most of them were partecipating to the party organisation so he had to wait alone. At first he had been very happy that he could help his best friend organise the night but then he regretted not to be active in the making of it.

<<Hey Min wanna come with me babysitting my friend's...cat?>> asked him

<<Nah... I prefer staying in, depressing myself.. I mean none really remembered my birthday..>> said the guy from the pile of pillows he was under. <<I did...>>

<<You sent me a birthday virtual gif... a message, like everyone else.. really I just want this day to come to an end>>

<<Come on, you can't stay here all day!!>>

<<I can and I will.. I mean it's just a couple of more hours and then I can finally go to bed.>>

<<NO and NO you will come with me. Go get dressed>>

Henry parked the car in front of a really high skyscraper, they went in and not even esitating a second the Brit went straight to the apartment.

<<Dammit! I forgot the key... wait, look into your pockets for a sec..>>

<<Why?? your key can't be in there>> said the other buring his hands into his trousers's pockets <<Man.... How is it possible??>> said when he found the perfectly right key.
