Hongjoong looked around him with wide eyes.

"It's not over... it's not over!" He pointed the gun at a different person every two seconds. "I will shoot you!"

"Throw your gun and put your hands behind your head." The officer pointed his gun back at Hongjoong, having much more confidence than the latter.

San smirked, keeping Angel protected behind him. "Just give up, Kim."

Hongjoong glared at his enemy, aiming his gun at him and pulling the trigger with no hesitation.

He pulled the trigger

"Master!!" Angel screamed, quickly pulling San back in a futile attempt to save him.

Hongjoong's eyes widened as he realized no bullet was shot from his gun. "No...no way."

The police took the chance to take control of the situation and handcuff Hongjoong.

-

Angel fell onto his knees when the police left and it was just him and his owner, his legs too shaky to keep him standing and his breathing heavy.

"Are you okay?" San carefully and slowly knelt down beside him.

Angel shook his head, looking up at the other with tear filled eyes. "He....he...shot you....he almost...killed you..."

San could only stare at his slave.

He wasn't scared that Hongjoong's initial goal was to take him.
He wasn't scared that he was right under his gun for a stressful amount of time.
He wasn't scared that they were surrounded with police and their weapons.

He was only scared that San would get hurt.

San who had physically and mentally hurt him countless times before.

How is this boy so pure?

"Breathe." San gently reminded before pulling him against his chest. "We're both okay..."

Angel clung to his master's shirt, breathing in his scent. It always calmed him down like magic.

Seonghwa and Yeosang came into the office shortly after.

"Are you guys okay?"

San nodded, standing up and helping Angel with him.

"What happened? The police are still outside."

Seonghwa sat down and gave Yeosang a gesture to sit too but the latter was too focused on Angel.

San hummed, helping Angel settle on his Office chair while telling everything that happened to his best friend.

Seonghwa rolled his eyes and laughed. "You're telling me, he had Angel under his gun and you let him? Now way, I don't believe it."

San chuckled. "Don't be stupid hyung, Jongho unloaded all of Hongjoong's guns before he Came here."

Seonghwa laughed again. "So you knew it was empty?"

San hummed, playing with Angel's hair, who looked up at him with confused but happy eyes.

So master only let him point his gun at me because he knew it was unloaded....

It brought a small smile to the slave's lips.

Master still wants to protect me...

-

San laid in bed that night and pulled Angel close.

They didn't talk after all that happened in the morning and San was too busy sorting  things out with the police.

"I'm sorry about today..."

Angel pulled back a little to look at his master. "For what master?"

"You shouldn't have gone through that..."

"I came in without permission, I'm the one who should apologize."

San sighed. "Don't ever do that again, you put yourself in danger."

Angel nodded, looking down again. "Yes, master, I'm sorry." He hummed, hesitating for a  moment. "So...I don't have to go back with Mr. Park now, right?"

San first nodded. "There's no nee-" but then he remembered why Seonghwa took Angel away in the first place. He wasn't safe around him.

"We'll see about that, Angel."

The slave looked down disappointed. He figured he had no right to object so he just obeyed. "Yes, master."

At least he can sleep in his arms tonight.

——

Yeosang helped his owner put his pajamas on.

"So that man is the owner of Paradise?"

Seonghwa nodded. "Yes."

"Why did they arrest him? I thought it was legal? And the government knows about it."

This has been going on for an hour and Yeosang wouldn't stop asking questions.

Seonghwa held the other's hands. "Stop asking so many questions and let's go to bed."

Yeosang huffed. "Fine."

Seonghwa smiled and kissed his head. He was happy that there's a huge chance of Yeosang being free again, but he couldn't tell him that yet. He didn't want to build up his hopes too high for something he himself wasn't sure of.

"What if the new owner takes back all of the slaves?" Yeosang couldn't contain his concerns and had to ask more questions.

Seonghwa laughed a little. "Then I'll find you and buy you again."

Yeosang let out a small sigh of relief. "Do you promise?'

"I promise."

"Goodnight..."

"Goodnight baby."

*next morning*

"Why do you have to take him again?"

"You still need more time. San."

"No! I'm willing to let him know I'm getting therapy, just keep him with me."

Seonghwa ran his hand through his hair. "Think for his sake and don't be selfish."

"I'm not selfish! He wants to stay too!" San stood up from his desk.

"Will you be able to take care of him?" Seonghwa sighed.

"Yes! Better than you! He's mine!"

"No. And you know that you won't." Seonghwa stood up. "We'll see you later."

"Where the fuck do you think you're going?!"

"To my apartment."

Both boys looked towards the door when they heard a soft knock.

"Master..." Angel peaked his head in. "May I?"

Once he received a nod, Angel walked into the room. "Uhm...sorry for leaving the room without your permission..."

"Did you want something?" San flatly asked.

Angel nodded. "I-I dropped Nero...from the
window." he looked down, fidgeting with the hem of his sweater. "C-Can I go...get him?"

San looked at him confused and on edge.
"Who the hell is Nero?"

"M-My plushie..." the youngest stuttered.

San rolled his eyes and sighed heavily. "Go back to the bedroom and don't say a word....Now!!"

Angel flinched and quickly bowed before stumbling out of the office.

Seonghwa glared at his angry boss. "Is this how you'll take care of him?" He raised an evebrow at him.

San stared at him, the way he yelled at Angel slowly sinking in.

He wasn't aware of himself.

Again.

Seonghwa scoffed. "I'm leaving, you can do whatever you want with him." He got up and stormed out of the office.
