My heartbreak was racing and my palms were clammy. Today was our first interview about the new album and we were also doing our first performance as a band afterwords. It was a general talk show that we were going to be featured on, not as popular as Ellen or Opera but a talk show all the same and it gave me the jitters.
"Hello everyone, I'm Kelly Clear and I'll be interviewing you today." A woman with bright blue eyes said.
"I'm very excited to get to know all of you."
She smiled and you could tell it was a fake one that she plastered on her face. She probably thought we were just some annoying teenage superstars with no manners. I mean for Dylan, Fang and Iggy that was sort of true, but the rest of us were very polite.
Joe stepped forward and shook the woman's hand.
"We will be starting in a few minutes." She said to him pulling her hand away and walking off to the stage to get ready.
"She's rude." Nudge said and I nodded.
"Prepare yourselves." Joe said, clapping a hand on my shoulder. "You're on soon."
I started to get butterfly's in my stomach and the nerves started to rise up and effect me more than they should.
The camera man started the count down and a bead of sweat rolled down the side of my face.
"On air in 3.. 2..."
"Hello everyone! This is Kelly here and do I have a special treat for you today."
My heart started to beat faster as The Flock prepared themselves to go on stage."Lot's of you drool over them or scream, maybe even dream unhealthy dreams, the biggest most popular band in the world! The Flock!"
That was our que, Iggy was the first on stage spinning and waving his arms in the air. He was followed by Dylan and Gazzy who gave a small wave. Nudge and Angel were next and ran out smiling and waving as the crowd cheered.
"You ready?" I looked over and Fang was giving me a small smirk.
"No, but let's do it."
Together we walked out onto the stage and the crowd of people staring at us made me want to run back, and I would have if Fang wasn't gripping my hand.
We sat on the couch across from Kelly and she tried to silence the crowd.
"Settle down, settle down, we only have a short while so let's start."
She flipped through a couple of notebooks before looking up at us and smiling."Fang, sweetheart, how are you and your beautiful girlfriend doing?" She asked and my body went stiff, and since I was leaning against Fang's legs, I could feel his muscles tense up too.
"I'm not in a relationship." He answered flatly, giving her as little detail as possible.
"Oh, well that's too bad, you're a very handsome young man and you could have any woman you want. How many of you are single exactly?" She asked, changing her focus.
The whole group raised their hands.
"Well there you have it boys and girls! Every member of The Flock is single!"
The crowd erupted in cheers once again and it took awhile for them to gain their composure back."So, we can see that the rumour of girls joining the band is true?" We all nodded.
"How are you guys adapting? We will hear from one of the boys, then one of the girls," She said.
"Iggy, your opinion?"
Iggy looked at me, then at Nudge, then lastly at Angel on his lap.
"Personally I love the change, but calling it a change would be a lie. We've known one another sense we were in diapers and they are like family to me, blood or not." Iggy finished and Angel jumped at him in a hug, snuggling into his chest.
