Becky's POV:
Austin. Austin is the only thing on my mind as I dial his number yet again.
"Austin?"
*silence*
"Okay. If you're there, I just want you to know that I didn't tell you I went to New York because I love you. I didn't want to see the look on your face when I told you I was leaving and I knew how much I was going to miss you."
*silence*
I wait one second, two seconds, five seconds, a minute.
"And your Dad breaking up with me?"
It feels so good to hear his voice on the other end that I almost cry.
"What?"
"You didn't know?"
"What?" I repeat. "He broke up with you for me? Austin, I'm sorry! I didn't know, baby!"
"Yeah..." I hear his voice crack as he sniffs. "And he must've blocked me 'cause I've been trying to phone you to tell you this; Camila kissed me, and I'm proud to say that I pushed her away. I didn't feel anything at all!"
I feel his happiness radiating through the phone.
"Are you mad, baby girl?"
"Of course not!"
"Hang on, cutie pie. I'll be there soon," Austin says excitedly.
"What?" I exclaim.
"Starbucks at the airport. Now."
Austin's POV:
"Surprise, baby girl!" I yell as Becky runs in and wraps her arms around my waist.
I hold her tight, my grip solid. Our hearts beat in sync, and the butterflies in my stomach take flight. She is warm, and she smells sweet, like home, like Becky.
I never want to let go.
"Austin?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you ever gonna let go of me?"
I grin widely. "Never."
She sighs against my chest and I feel her soft, warm breath.
"I love you, Austin."
I kiss her in response.
Becky's POV:
"You ready?" Austin asks as he pull up in front of the art school.
"Yes, I'm so excited!" I smile. He grabs my hand as we slow to a stop in front of the school.
"You got this okay?" He looks into my eyes for what seems like an eternity, his warm gaze melting my heart.
I press my lips to his. Warmth spreads across my face as I feel him smile. I let a small grin creep across the corners of my mouth.
I lay my head on his shoulder for the ten minutes we have left to spare.
The rain pours down on the glass in a warm pattern and I feel safer than I have in my entire life.
Austin's POV:
I watch Becky go, waiting until she's entered the school before I pull out of the driveway and leave.
Good luck, Becks.
Becky's POV:
"Sing this piece of music, please," my vocal coach instructs. "This is to get your voice warmed up, then we can start something in your style."
Obligingly, I breeze through the warm ups.
"Mrs.-"
"Call me Gemma, Becky." Gemma smiles at me through her gorgeous green eyes.
"All right. Gemma. I just wanted you to know that my style is more hip-hop and rapping."
"Of course."
She hands me some music. "Want U Back, by Cher Loyd," which is one of my favourite songs and artists.
Smiling, I begin to sing it.
Louie's POV:
"I don't give a sh-, no one else can have ya, I want you back, w-want you back, w-want you, want you back."
There's a beautiful voice coming from Gemma's room. It captures my attention. I peer inside, and a gorgeous girl stands there singing.
Woah.
Becky's POV:
"How could you?"
"It was for the best, Becky," my Dad sighs.
The rain pours heavily on the front window and I no longer feel safe without Austin.
"I love him."
"You don't understand what love is, Becky."
I let the hurt sink in.
"And you don't know shit about me. I love Austin. You can't tell me what I don't know."
As soon as he pulls up to my apartment, I storm inside without giving a second glance back.
