"I'm a witch," Zeke told me calmly.

*silence*

"WHAT?!"

I just sat there with my eyes still wide open. I was about to ask something when I heard someone screaming. Zeke's joyful and joking expression was quickly replaced with a serious one. He ran to me from where he was standing. I was picked up from where I was laying down. I was panting for some unknown reason. The carriage had stopped moving ages ago. Why am I still feeling ill?

Zeke walked out the door with me in his arms. My bandages were somehow visible now. I covered them with my hand not wanting to remember the pain of it. I glanced up weakly to see my surroundings. The only reason why I did that was because of Zeke coming to an abrupt stop.

I saw lots of men in the same clothes as the one Zeke kicked out. One came forward and he wasn't wearing anything black. More like a military outfit with medals pinned to his chest. I guessed he was the leader seeming that he was the only one that talked and was wearing different clothes from the rest.

"Zeke, loyal apprentice of the king of witches." He began, " Your orders have changed, his majesty, the king, wished for you to hand over the girl known as 'Hazel Elsher'. Complete your new orders issued by the king of your kind."

I whispered, "Zeke, what is he talking about?"

He didn't say a word and just held me in his arms tightly. Before I knew it we were walking towards the man. He stood still for a moment and then dropped me on the cold ground. I clenched my teeth at the impact. My foot began to throb and I moved my hands to my side where I had been shot. I was just laying there everyone staring at me and laughing in amusement. All but Zeke.

I looked up at him waiting for him to say what I was thinking he was going to do was wrong. He would take me to the place we were going. He would right? Right?!

But no. When I looked up his head was turned, his hair casting a dark shadow across his face so I couldn't see his expression. I looked away in disgust. He has betrayed me yet again.

"Liar!" I yelled.

Everyone was quite and they were all staring at me. I lay there with my head turned towards Zeke once again. Zeke was now staring at me with a shocked expression. As if I was someone that had just come back from the dead.

"Hazel, darling, this is all just a misunder-" he tried to say but I cut him off.

"If you EVER call me 'darling' again I'm going to rip your heart out and feed it to the wild wolves,"  I said, which naturally shut them all up.

What I didn't expect was sudden pain in my back. I realized too late that it was the leader. I let out a cough and I looked down to see my own blood on the floor. I heard a swaying of hair and realized it was Zeke.

"Come on now, Sir Zeke, had been speaking very highly of you a day ago in his letter. Why are you suddenly insulting him like that?" He questioned.

I stayed silent not wanting to think much less talk about that backstabber. I looked away not wanting him to see the look of distaste on my face.

"Oh well." he began, " BOYS! Load her up!"

A man walked over to me and picked me up. He carried me to a covered wagon with a door. He restrained my hands behind my back and didn't bother with my feet. He got up to leave and locked the door behind him. Not long after, we started to move.
