Wei Ying blinded by the fact that this was how he was meeting Jiang Cheng after all this time made him stunned. He had a lump in his throat and quite frankly wanted to run away.

"How could you not come..." Jiang Cheng asked his teeth bitting his bottom lip. His lips looked dry. Maybe it was a symptom that came with pregnancy Wei Ying thought.

"How could I face you?" Wei Ying said standing his ground. His hands readjusting on the basket he held. "What are you even doing here?!" Wei Ying said agitated.

It was a reaction Jiang Cheng hadn't predicted happening so he was on thin ice at the moment. "W-Wei Ying! How can you just leave?! After evything! Our Yanli wouldn't want-"

"Don't bring her up!" Wei Ying said and huffed. He turned to go back inside. "Go away!" He said taking his time to get up the stairs.

Jiang Cheng walked over. "Can we just talk!"

"About what?!" Wei Ying turned back frustrated tears began to fall down his pink cheeks.

"You never ruined the Jiang sect. You know that right?" Jiang Cheng said his weight having shifted forward do to the baby shifting in him.

"I don't believe that. You made me not believe that."

"I know. I know. That's why I'm so sorry." Jiang Cheng said and got closer to Wei Ying reaching to touch him.

Wei Ying pulled away. "Don't."

Jiang Chengs eyes narrowed. "It's your nephews birthday. You know... he knows a lot about you. He knows everything. He wants to study under you. And it's his birthday. You really won't join?"

"No. I can't. If I go back then... then I'll some how ruin everything." He said closing his eyes. "Now excuse me while I make dinner for Wen Ning and I." Wei Ying said politely and went inside.

Jiang Cheng only sat down on the chair on the porch. "I'm not leaving. You know I would never forget your kids birthdays."

Wei Ying rolled his eyes as he chopped up some things and threw them in the pot to cook.

"Brother. There's no need to worry. Jiang Cheng will bring Wei Ying home. He will feel welcomed again." Lan Xichen said touching a hand to his brothers shoulder as they sat in the dinning hall.

Wei Ying opened the door and set out a plate of food for Jiang Cheng and then shut the door.

Jiang Cheng was confused yet picked up the bowl that was offered and began to eat it.

"Sect leader?" Wen Ning said as he approached the door to the home.

"Wen Ning." Jiang Cheng said setting the bowl down. "Your-"

"Wen Ning get inside now." Wei Ying said harshly. Wen Ning froze but went inside and Wei Ying slammed the door.

Jiang Chengs face had become cold and he sat down stroking his belly. "Ugh... careful love. You're gonna hurt your father."

"Wei Gonzia why is Jiang Cheng outside?" Wen Ning asked. "And where is everyone?"

"Long story. Kids are at the jiang sect for Wuxians birthday and Jiang Cheng come to get me. But I'm not... I'm not ready to face him. He got pregnant again and... and I feel like I'm a screw up."

"Have you mentioned this to jiang Cheng?"

"No... I'm scared to."

"I'll go." Wei Ying said to Jiang Cheng who was sitting at the kitchen table.

"You'll come back to the sect?!" Jiang Cheng said shocked.

"On one promise!" Wei Ying said calmly. "I won't stay or go again. I'll go on important days. That's it."

Jiang Cheng froze. "I want you to always feel welcomed. That's all." Jiang Cheng said strongly.
