*1 ½ Years Later*

"Does he know you're coming in?" Andy's secretary, June, asks with a smile.

I shake my head. "I was in the area and thought I'd surprise him for lunch. Is he with anyone?"

"You should be good. I think he's finishing up on a phone conference right now."

"Thank you June." I say before slowly opening his door. His back is towards me and it appears that he didn't hear the door open.

I step up behind him and put my hands over his eyes. "Yeah, I'm going to need to call you back Bill... Yeah, something just came up at my office. I'll talk to you later... Bye." He says before hanging up. "Hey you. Was I expecting you?"

"No. I had some appointments with vendors in the area and thought I'd stop in to see if my amazing boyfriend would be able to join me for lunch."

"I'd love to. Let me send a quick email and then we can go."

"You didn't have to do this." I say the following weekend as we sunbathe at a resort in Mexico.

"Yes I did. You deserved some time away and so did I."

I smile at him. "Thank you. And thank you for taking my phone away from me to ensure I would have a relaxing time.

He smirks. This past week had been amazing, much needed after how stressful these past couple months have been. "I don't think I ever want to leave." I say as I place my tropical drink down and start out at the water.

"Well lucky for us we still have a few more nights." Andy says, grabbing his beer and taking a swig of it.

"So what's on the agenda for this evening?"

"We have reservations at the main restaurant."

"Anything special we're celebrating?" I ask slyly.

"A vacation with me isn't enough?" He teases.

"Of course it is. I love you." I say, leaning over and kissing him.

Dinner was lovely. The food was great and the company was even better. "Thank you." I whisper to him as we sip the wine Andy had ordered.

"Of course. I'm glad this has been a vacation to remember."

"It's been perfect."

"It's about to get even better." He whispers.

"What do you mean?" I watch with eyes wide as he slides out of his chair and kneels before me.

"Essie. I have been enraptured by you from the first moment I laid eyes on you. You opened me up to the possibility of a great love after I thought I had lost too much to ever be happy again. You remind me that the future doesn't have to be sad or scary. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
