Finn felt like it was over. His life was now going to be reduced to living in this dingy basement of a child pedophile and kidnapper, until the man up stairs decided it was time for someone new. He stared at the blank concrete walls, trying to muster up any energy he had to find another way out. And as much as he appreciated it, the victims advice had not been working out so far.

Ring ring

Not again. What would it be this time? He just hopped it wasn't Vance yelling at him again, or Griffens scary giggling and concerning messages. Finney sighed and tiredly picking up the phone, muttering the same "hello" as he was always doing. A broken record. "Don't give up," the voice on the phone but Finney back into motion right away.

He remembered that voice, he wished he could have heard that voice the moment he came into this stupid place. "You're so close to the end. Just a little longer, buddy." Those encouraging words were nothing but that, the voice wasn't wanting to give him clues, or advice on how to basically get caught—it was just encouragement.

"Y/n...." Finney muttered into the phone, he held the receiver to his face like his life depended on it. "I promise you'll get out of here. You just have to put your big boy pants on now." Wether or not Y/n knew that was his name or not wasn't apparent, he didn't seem to even hear Finney when he said it, and hearing the teens sense of humor was refreshing.

"I don't know....i can't. Y/n none of this is helping at all!" Finney said in frustration, putting his back on the wall behind the phone. He whimpered and slid to the ground, sniffling. "It'll work, you just have to wait. I promise, you'll get out of here, for all of us." Finney nodded to himself and looked around the room half expecting to see him like he saw Griffin, but he wasn't there.

"Y/n...i...I'm sorry," Finney sniffled, wiping his eyes with his other hand. He heard a short chuckled from the other side, then silence for a few moments. "You have nothing to be sorry for. Put on your big boy pants, Finn." Then the line cut off, leaving Finns ears to be filled with the absent sound of the dial tone.

Finn got up from his place on the ground, putting the phone back. He took a deep breath and looked back at what he had already done. Maybe there was more he could do? Or maybe he should wait for the next call, yeah....that would be the best, wouldn't it?

Time to wait....
