Chapter six
Violet
"Honey, are you cold?" I blink at my mom.
"What do you mean, why?"
"Well you're wearing a hoodie, but it's twenty two degrees in here. Do you want me to put the heat up?" She asks but I shake my head. "No, that's fine." She nods and I step into the kitchen to pour myself a glass of orange juice.
I'd left Wesley's once I woke up. Met Rebecca on my way down. She's grown so much. The last time I saw her she was twelve. She's fifteen now.
I told her to tell her brother that I said thanks, then let her continue watching Vampire Diaries. Every girl that age has that phase at least once in their life. Me at fourteen. It took everything in me to not sit down and watch all of the eight seasons with her.
"Honey, who's hoodie is that?" My mom asks and I look up at her surprised. "Mine?"
She blinks, then frowns. "I could swear I saw someone else wearing that hoodie once." Yeah, Wesley, before I stole it from him.
"Maybe they just had the same one." I shrug and stir my orange juice with a spoon. Wait what?
My eyes snap to the door when Colton steps in and I tense up. "It used to be Wesley's, mom, that's why. " He says and I narrow my eyes. He steps over to my mother and casually places a kiss on her cheek.
How does he love our mother so much, but can't stand me. What the hell did I ever do to him?
"You've been seeing him?" Mom frowns, but I shake my head. Joe barges in before I can say anything.
"I'm glad, maybe he'll make you stay this time." He's being sarcastic, but I know that he means what he said. What I do not know is why he wants me to stay, if he hates me so much and I'm such a burden.
"We're not fucking seeing each other." I snap.
"Watch your mouth!" Joe snaps and I raise an eyebrow when he isn't looking. "Alight, but why talk about my ex, why not talk about Leah."
"Why the fuck would you want to talk about Leah?" Colton's head twists ninety degrees to look at me and he glares, suspicion rising in his eyes and I frown.
"I don't."
Leah is a pretty interesting person, because she is the kind to go invisible if she wants to. You don't notice her in a room full of people. You didn't notice her standing at the water fountain while you're gossiping with someone at your locker. That's why she knows every freaking secret in this town. A shiver runs down my back. Well, hopefully not all.

I still want my fucking car.
I scoff at Colton's text, stepping out of the gas station with a canister in hand.
Believe me, I didn't forget. How could I. He's left a purple bruise on my back, constantly reminding me. It hurts like a bitch.
I'm not stupid, something valuable is in that car, that's why he wants it back. I wonder what exactly it is that is of such great value to him.
I don't know how to get there though. I can't take a car, and really don't want to go all the way by foot- A car honks behind me and I smile at Nathan, sitting in the drivers seat.
"You Good, Violet?" I nod and look down the street.
"Hey, could you take me a bit? Just to the bathing area in the woods?" That's not too far. Eight minutes by car. Then I'll need to walk the last fifteen minutes.
