Chapter ten
Violet
"Are you kidding me, this shit is ridiculous!" Stacey grabs the building instructions for the tent once more and turns them to see if they makes more sense, holding them the wrong way around.
They don't.
Placing the paper under her foot, to keep the wind from blowing it away, she tucks her hair behind her ear, before grabbing the two metal rods again. She stares between them and the instruction.
"This shit doesn't make any fucking sense!" Lea shouts over at me and I look up at the two girls, as I lay on the ground, trying to rid of the dizziness clouding my brain. I squeeze my eyes when I lower my head too abruptly and let out a hiss.
"Are those more than just two rods, or am I the only one seeing four?" Stacey asks, while motioning at the parts now in Leas hands, and blinks a few times, to get rid of her blurry vision.
"You see four? I see six." I tell her, and the two of us burst out laughing, while I close my eyes again, red shimmering through my eyelids as the sun is blinding me.
"I-" Staceys sentence gets cut off, when she takes a step backwards and her foot gets caught in the fabric of the tent, we- or more like Lea and Stacey- are trying to built. Stacey lets out an unattractive sound when she stumbles and falls onto her back, landing on one of the confusing, and really hard metal rods.
"God, fuck!" She cries and tries to roll off, to the side. "Don't use 'god' and 'fuck' in the same sentence!" My mom yells over to at her, and Stacey grunts in return while I chuckle. "You just did." I yell back, watching ad Stacey gets up on all fours, finally breathing properly again.
"Thanks Verdice, I'm fine!" She yells over at me with a thumb up, and a tight lipped smile on her face. I roll my eyes, slowly stalking towards her to try help her get up, when I stumble over the metal rod Stacey let fall, landing on all my fourths.
"Didn't know you were so desperate for me to fuck you in that position again." Wesley chuckles as he appears behind the tree line, walking past us, and I roll my eyes. Sitting up on my knees, I let out a hiss when I hear something crack in my back, before responding to him.
"Fuck off pervert! I'm not saying that you're 'desperate' for me to sit on your face again, every time you're lying on your back!" I say, before I hear another crack, louder this time, and I hold onto Staceys arm, she now the one having to help me get up.
"God, I think I just broke my back." I spit out and hear Colton scoff.
"Too bad it wasn't your neck." He mumbles while shaking his head, just loud enough for me to hear, and my head snaps around.
"Oh I will break your neck, as soon as I'm standi-" I yell back as I get up with the help of Stacey, but get cut of by my mom who rushes to my side, stopping me from going at Colton.
"Okayyy, hey sweetie, why don't you two just go help Wes get the rest of our things, alright? I'll tell Colton to set up your tent." She says and I reluctantly nod before stalking off after Wesley, who's already staring at me with that stupid, smug grin of his. "Broke your back by arching it?" I push at his shoulder and he stumbles, laughing.
I pull my hair up into a ponytail, using the hair tie Stavey gives me, while the both of us walk past him. "Stop staring like that, you creep." She says and his smile falters a bit, before he comes rushing after us.
"I'm sleeping on the side, not on my back!" He yells over at us, and Stacey looks over her shoulder to answer.
"We don't care!"
