"It was a cold dark night when it happened." said the camper. "What exactly happened?" asked the officer with a gentle but serious tone. "Well, we left for the campsite a couple of days before the rest of the group..." the campers voice faded as he began his story.
"I can't wait!" shouted Lily. Lily is the boss of the group, she's always taking leadership roles and always in charge of planning any and all events they go to.
"Of course you are Lily, you were never one to miss out on something exciting." chuckled Jackson, Lily's childhood best friend. He is the gay best friend and the jock of the group. He's very kind and always is helping someone or does community service.
"Oh shut up Lily, it's just a stupid camping trip." scoffed Lacey. Lacey, they are the drama queen of the group. They aren't one for the outdoors and hates anything to do with getting dirty.
"Lacey, be nice." scolded Jasmine. Jasmine is the mom of the group. She's a very gentle person but stern when she needs to be. She keeps the others in check and is a gentle giant. At about "5'11" she towers over most of the group.
"Come on guys, can't we just get along? We will be spending two weeks together, we don't need any nonsense happening." groaned Mason. Mason is the driver and big brother figure in their group. He's a bit of a tease and a bully but he means well. He is socially awkward and doesn't express himself very well. He's the only one slightly taller than Jasmine.
"Guys please quiet down I'm trying to rest!" complained Axel. Axel the nerd and sleep-deprived one of the group. He enjoys gaming, studying, reading, and watching movies. He's the one that eats a lot and is still somehow the skinniest.
After driving for a few hours they finally arrive at the campsite. The group unpacks three tents, matches, and the rest of their supplies. After finishing setting up their tents and supplies they assign partners. Lacey with Jasmine, Lily with Jackson, and Axel with Mason.
"Alright guys it's getting dark let's start this camping trip off with a well night's rest," said Mason as he yawned. Everyone agreed and went to bed.
-Later that night at a secret facility-
"Doctor the wendigos are acting strange!" said the lab assistant urgently.
"What do you mean lad? The wendigos are safely secure it will be fine." said the Doctor.
"No sir they have found a weak spot in the-" The lab assistant is cut off when the power shuts off.
"Oh no.." The assistant sighed under his breath as he starts to look around nervously.
"What just happened!" The Doctor shouted angrily.
"The wendigos are out and the power locks are off, all the creatures are out!" shouted the assistant right before a blur passes behind him.
The Doctor rushes off and as the assistant tries to follow, he is pulled back by an unknown force and is slaughtered. The rest of the facility is attacked and all staff is killed before all the creatures run and escape into the surrounding forest.
-The next morning-
As the sun rises soft chirps of birds in the nearby area can be heard followed by the song of crickets. Axel sits up with a small yawn, he stretches before realizing that Mason isn't in the tent. Axel puts his shoes on before opening the tent's zipper door and climbing out closing it behind him.
"Good morning sunshine!" Said Mason with a soft chuckle.
"What time is it?" Axel asks standing up and rubbing his eyes.
"It's about ten in the morning," Lacey says before going back to eating their breakfast.
"Ugh alright." Axel groans as he stumbles over to get his portions of food.
Mason turns on the radio when a weather forecast comes on. "According to the radars there is a massive and severe storm heading towards ******. Anyone out camping has been asked to leave their campsites immediately and seek shelter." The group looks at each other.
"Well, what are we doing?" Asked Lily.
"Obviously we are leaving!" Lacey said raising her voice.
"Hold up now, let's wait and see if the rest of this group shows up. If they aren't here within 2 hours we will leave alright." Mason said trying to compromise.
"Whatever but if we end up dead it's on you!" Shouted lacey as they storm off to their tent.
As time passed over the next hour, the winds became aggressive causing the trees to sway, the tents to unlatch and supplies to be blown away. They gather everything they need into their tents. As it got darker and the winds blew harder the group decided to leave. They grabbed their supplies but in a hurry left everything else. As the rain started it became harder to see as they drove. Lightning struck and loud thunder boomed in the skies. They drove desperately to get out when lightning strikes at a tree just a bit up the way from them. As the tree fell Mason slammed on the brakes realizing he wasn't going to make it.
"What the hell!" Lily shouted.
"A tree fell into the road. This is the only road out, we have to go back." Mason said trembling.
"No, no way I'm going back!" Shouted Lacey.
"Yeah, I'm with them!" Chimed in Jackson.
As the group argues they go silent as an unnatural and disturbing growl is heard followed by a howel. although the group was terrified they had no other choice but to return to the campsite. They all got into their tents and eventually fell asleep. They slept most of the day away, until...
