You go down stairs to see your dad cooking pancakes for you and Robin, "Morning sunshine, nice choice of outfit" your dad says (not in a weird way he just wanted to be nice) "Thanks dad, what you cooking" you ask "Pancakes" he says "Ooh okay" you say You sit at the table next to Robin "How'd ya sleep sis?" He asks "Really well, that journey tired me out" you reply You eat your pancakes and walk to school with Robin, he walks you to the principals office so you can get your timetable, then to your first class "I wish I could stay with ya but yk we aren't in the same grade aha, but good luck tho" Robin says "Thanks, I'll see u later" you say "Adiós Hermana" he says You walk into your first class, science. As you walk in you immediately feel heavy eyes upon you, you grip your books, the teacher walks over to you, "Oh hi, you must be Y/N Arellano, let me introduce you to the class" she says "Class! Pay attention, we have a new student joining our class, her name is Y/n Arellano! " she says You wave awkwardly

You look at him, you catch eye contact but he looks away fast.
"Okay class, your homework is to create a peace related to science with your table partner, so yes that does mean you have to study somewhere with them, your work will be published at the science fair in November (it's September) so I'm giving you todays lesson to plan it out with your partner" your teacher announces.

"Um hey my name is y/n" you say while holding out your hand for him to shake "Yeh I know, the teacher introduced you" he says in a moody tone
You hold out your hand a bit further to him "Oh sorry, Vance, Vance Hopper" he says and gives your hand a weak shake
"so what do we would like" Vance says while folding his arms and slouching in his chair
"Uhhh maybe we could do it about atoms?"
"Ew, lame, atoms are lame" he says
"Okay, soooo how aboutttt... THE PERIODIC TABLE?" You say as the periodic table is one of your favorite science subjects
"Ew what, did you just say period, that blood thing girls get, absolutely not I don't wanna be making a fucking vagina out of paper mashe with fake blood or some shit" he says
"No, that's not what a periodic table is, it's elements created by atoms" you say
"Oh, AGAIN WITH THESE SHITTY ATOMS I DON'T WANT TO DO IT ABOUT SHITTY ATOMS THEY ARE SHITTY" he quiet shouts 'That was personal' you think to yourself "What did atoms ever do to you?" You ask "Nothing it's just they're- complicated, okay, I'm fucking dumb, so I wouldn't know fuck all about them" he says while looking into your eyes, you break eye contact with him as it was kinda uncomfortable
"Sooo, planets?" You ask
"Sure" Vance says while rolling his eyes slouching in his chair again "Okay we got there in the end" you say "Omg shut up" Vance says in a joke way
