Recap from last Chapter:

When we had finally decided that we had gotten enough clothes for the three guys, and us we headed home. I was so excited to go to school. I was a little worried about whether Jasper would be able to control himself around that many humans. It would be a lot to handle, especially since he hadn’t been a ‘vegetarian’ for that long and he had struggled with it in the past. But I was almost certain he could do it, and my visions had seemed to draw the same conclusion 97% of the time, but the other 3% worried me. What if he really couldn’t do it? No. I wouldn’t allow myself to think like that. Jasper will know if I’m worried, I have to keep my composure. He can do this. We can do this.

A few weeks later:

This was getting way too repetitive. We’ve already been in school for three weeks and all we have done in my algebra class is factoring (so easy). The teacher had just announced that we were to do twenty problems before the end of class.  I sighed, pulling out my notebook, wishing Jazz was in my Algebra class but he was taking Geometry with Emmett. I glanced at Rosalie to see that she was annoyed by the repetition as well. I got through all twenty problems within the first five minutes and then began doodling designs in the margins of my notebook. I continued to do this until all the margins were filled with my drawings.

Then I looked back to Rosalie who glared back at me. She never did understand how I always had such a positive attitude. What did I have to be upset about? I had everything I ever wanted- a family. And now I could have a normal “life” I suppose. I went to school like everyone else my “age”. And I had Jasper. What did she have to be upset about? She had everything I had. Why wasn’t it enough for her? What was it that made her so upset? Sometimes I wished I had my brother’s gift. It would be nice to know what Rose was thinking about that made her so upset. I wish I knew so I could help her. I didn’t like to see my family upset. Jasper was always happy when he was with me. But Rose didn’t seem to feel much better when she was with Emmett. She was still cold and cross. I wish I knew why.

Finally the bell rang. Rosalie and I parted ways, her heading to English with Emmett and I to Biology with Jasper and Edward. When I saw Jasper waiting by my locker I forgot all about how I was worried about Rosalie and skipped to Jasper with my newly found happiness and excitement. “Ready for Biology?” he asked sweetly. “Yup! A whole hour with you,” I answered happily. “Hmmm,” he said as if he had to decide if that was a good thing or not. I elbowed him in the ribs and he laughed. “I’m looking forward to it,” he said and planted a quick kiss on my lips. Edward appeared then and cleared his throat. “Sorry Edward,” Jasper said quickly. I pulled out my textbook and then we walked together to Biology.

When we got to the classroom Jasper and I sat at a lab bench in the back and Edward sat at the table across from us. He looked sad as he slumped into his seat. I felt bad for him, being the only one out of all of us without a mate. I hoped he wouldn’t be so alone forever. Just then I got a vision. Edward wouldn’t be alone forever. There was someone for him after all. The only problem was that I couldn’t see her. The vision was too blurry, as it was too far ahead in the future. The biology room came back into focus and I glanced at Edward who just sighed. He saw it too. He shook his head at me. I wished he would believe me. I stuck my tongue out at him and then I looked at Jasper. He smiled at me. He knew I was happy about something.
