Stars in my Sky
Star 4: Express your anger with words, not punches
“You’re so beautiful,” Daniel said, a tender smile on his face.
I smiled too as I watched him talk to his baby sister that just looked at him with those adorable dark blue eyes.
She let out a weird noise as she moved around in his arms. He then set her on his lap and took out his phone.
“You want to play fruit ninja?” He cooed as he unlocked his iPhone and opened the application.
As soon as Lucy heard the music, her head snapped to the phone.
“Ah!” She cried out as her tiny fingers started hitting the screen. When she would hit a fruit and hear the slicing noise, she would start giggling.
I was smiling the whole time while watching her.
She soon got bored of the game and started moving again and whining a bit.
“Lucy,” I called and she turned her head to look at me. Immediately her tiny hands shot out in my direction. I chuckled as I took her in my arms.
I found her staring at my right wrist and when I looked down I saw that she was looking at my charm bracelet.
She then reached for it and grabbed one of the four charms. It was the silver ‘A’.
She started pulling it softly then she let it go, amazed.
“Do you want to feed her?” Daniel asked, holding out her bottle of milk.
“Yeah,” I said excitedly. The last time I fed her it was amazing!
It has been around a month since I first met Lucy. Daniel and I had been hanging out almost every day and we became really close. I wasn’t sure what we were, though.
I mean we do flirt and hang out but we haven’t said anything to make it official. I thought of us as close friends.
But I liked Daniel more than a friend. I didn’t know if he did too, though…
My thoughts were interrupted when Daniel gave me the bottle.
I adjusted Lucy’s position in my arms before taking the bottle from Daniel.
As soon as the bottle reached her mouth, Lucy held it with her hands and I let go of it.
I watched her drinking rapidly as her eyes started closing.
A few minutes later, the bottle was empty and Lucy was asleep in my arms. Daniel took the bottle from me and I walked slowly to their parents’ room where her crib was.
I slowly leaned down and put her in the crib.
I jumped slightly when I straightened because Daniel was standing right behind me.
He put his arms around my waist and we both watched the sleeping baby.
At this moment it felt as if we were a couple and Lucy was our little girl. That thought made me smile. I wouldn’t mind if that happened someday. It would be amazing.
I stopped my thoughts because I was being a silly girl.
Daniel then pulled me with him out of the room. We closed the door behind us and went back to the living room.
“So where do you want to go later?” He asked me and I shrugged.
“I don’t care as long as I’m with you,” I said, smirking at him.
