A New Life

Chapter five: The Test

Edge soon came back from his trip to a near by store. He found Rose on the couch and gave him the bag, "Here, I bought you two just in case..." He said as he sat down. Rose nodded and mumbled a quiet 'thank you'. He made his way to the bathroom, he took a few minutes.

Edge waited patiently, nervous and excited... Until Rose came out of the bathroom with a small frown. It was a negative test. Rose's eye's were filled with tears as he tried not to break into disappointed sobs. Edge quickly got up and held Rose close to his warm body, he could tell that he needed comfort. Rose dropped the test and instantly sobbed into Edge's chest. "I-I..hic..." Rose became weak, almost slipping out of Edge's arms and onto the floor weak. Edge quickly picked Rose up and sat on the couch, Rose in his lap. "Hey... It's okay..." Edge wasn't really the best at comforting, usually because of how things were back in his AU.

"N-No... No it's n-not..." Rose sniffled, his eye's looked a little puffy from sobbing so much. He looked at Edge, frowning. Edge tried not to laugh at Rose looking like a strawberry marshmallow. Rose rubbed under his eye's with the sleeve of his sweater, making it look a little more red. Edge released a little snicker, soon turning into more. Rose frowned more, "Y-You think... M-Me crying is f-funny?.." Edge looked at Rose, his snickering stopped. "Wh-What? No no!-" Edge panicked, looking at the strawberry marshmallow. "Then wh-why are you l-laughing?" Rose sounded like he was going to cry again. "I-I... I'm sorry, you kinda... Looked like a strawberry marshmallow..." Edge said, sounding a bit guilty. Rose puffed his cheeks, seeming offended in a playful way, and got off of Edge, walking to the bedroom.

"Rooosseee!~ come back!~" Edge whined in a playful way. "No~... Your being an asshole Edgy~..." Rose turned his head away, in an overly exadurated way, and crossed his arms as he marched of to the bedroom. Edge sighed and whined more, getting up and following Rose. "Rooossseeeee!~, Your being a bum~" Edge said as Rose slammed the door in his face. "Were getting a divorce... I'm taking the kids-" Rose would never mean this. "B-But... We've only b-been m-married for six m-months and three days..." Edge sounded sad, very sad. He didn't know that Rose was joking. Edge banged his head on the door, tears falling down his cheeks as he thought they were actually getting a divorce. "Wh-Where d-did I g-go wrong R-Rose..." Edge began to sob a little. Rose sighed and opened the door, "We're not actually getting a divorce. I was just joking Edge..." He sounded guilty. Edge looked at Rose, his face also turned puffy. "W-Were not?" Rose shook his head, "Never..." He held his arms around Edge, hugging him tightly.
