Barley Lightfoot is only sixteen years old in New Mushroomton High School. He lived in the mushroom house in 313 Pennybun Lane. Barley has a mom and his younger brother, including their pet dragon.

Before the blue burly elf was ready for his biggest challenge, it only happens a few hours ago.

It was morning.

Barley's mom, Laurel Lightfoot, was going thru the fridge. She was dead serious. Laurel huffs. "Looks like another trip to the grocery store again." She commented herself in her mutter.

Laurel became cheerful when she heard one of her sons' voice.

"Morning, mom!"

It was Barley's youngest brother.

Laurel got out of the refrigerator and faced him. She smiled. "Morning, Ian!" Laurel greeted.

The blue skinny elf is only thirteen years old. He has blue curly hair. Ian wears his white shirt, covered by his red flannel blouse. He wore his skinny jeans with his regular black and white sneakers.

Ian was puzzled with his smile. "Guess we're just eating what we have left again, mom?" He wonders.

Laurel rolls her eyes. She was annoyed yet still cheerful. "It's that month again. I'll have to go to the store today after you and Barley go to school." Laurel replies. She shut the fridge door.

Laurel went thru the wooden cabinets. "Your brother should have sign up for driving practice soon. It's about time he gets his driver's license and his car." She believed.

Ian sighed. The blue skinny elf knew that day would come. While Laurel works most of her days, Barley and Ian have to be up early. Early enough to catch a bus. Buses are one thing to worry on their minds. Sometimes their mom might drive them to school.

The blue skinny elf wasn't concerned.

School bus today, Barley's car tomorrow.

Ian was hopeful that his elder brother would be driving him to school for a change. Barley and his youngest brother are really close. They are inseparable.

Laurel was busy yet aware. "Ian, check your brother if he's awake, will you?" She asks.

The blue skinny elf nodded his head twice. "Okay, mom." Ian answers.

The blue skinny goes to his elder brother's bedroom door. Ian knocked on it three times. "Barley, wake up!" The blue skinny elf exclaimed.

Ian heard his elder brother's holler.

"I'm up, brother! I'll be out in a moment!" Barley shouted.

The blue skinny elf shook his head and rolled his eyes.

Ian waited for his elder brother in a few minutes.

Afterwards, Barley's bedroom door opens itself.

The blue skinny elf was expecting his elder brother to come out.

Instead of the blue burly elf, it was the happy little green dragon, tackling Ian playfully.

The blue skinny elf was startled by the pet dragon. Ian falls over on the hardwood floor. The blue skinny elf was chuckling, while the small green dragon gives Ian kisses on his face.

Laurel recognized the commotion. She was beaming. "Blazey! There you are! I was wondering where you are, you crazy dragon!" Laurel exclaims. She walked to Blazey.

Barley ultimately got out of his bedroom. The blue burly elf was enthusiastic yet puzzling. "Our dragon was just afraid of the big fireworks last night, mom. She hides herself under my bed all night." Barley explained.
