I walk out of my house in a tank top and shorts. The cold breeze that hits me causes me to shiver but, I don't care. The weather is always cold in the morning here in Virginia. It'll be gone when 12 hits and it's 11:30 right now. I just want to get the mail and go back inside.

Looking up, I see Elijah's car parked outside. "Elijah?" I ask. "You said you wanted shoes right?" He ask, stepping out. "You were serious?" I say, grabbing the mail. "I mean. I can just leave," he taunts. "No! Give me ten," I tell him, rushing into the house.

I put on a simple outfit before making my way back out. "Ok. Now I'm ready," I sigh, getting into the passenger seat. He starts the car and we begin our drive to the outlet.

Out of nowhere, the car comes to a halt. I look up to see a woman standing the in the middle of the road. Her hand up as though she did a spell. She seems to be staring straight at me as her hand starts to glow red. "Duck!" Elijah shouts, pullonhb me out of the car with vamp speed. The moment we're out, a fireball hits the car, causing it to explode.

"Annalisa Mairtine. I'm going to need you to come with me," the woman says. Elijah looks at me with a raised brow. "I didn't know you that well," I shrug. "Not a chance in hell," I shout. "As somnum," I say. The woman hits the ground unconscious. "Did I mention there's a groupf of witches hunting down the last member of your bloodline," he says, grabbing the witches body, snapping her neck. "Why didn't you tell me?" I snap. "I didn't know you were one!" He snaps back. "I knew one of the last members of your family. What is your relationship with Camille Mairtine? Aunt? Sister?" He ask as we make our way down the road.

My eyes widen at the name of my mother. "She was my mother," I say. This causes him to freeze. "That's impossible. Camille and I were together and I know I never impregnated her. She died 11 years ago and she was not pregnant!" He says. "Maybe she cheated or something. I dunno," I argue back.

"Were you actually there when she was pregnant?" I ask. "I left to help Niklaus. It was nearly a year before I returned and she was dead,"
he says. I can tell by the look in his eyes that the memory still affects him.

"You two are so simple minded," a voice says. Elijah sits the woman down, making sure to keep close. How the hell is she even awake?

"What is it that we need to know?" I interrogate. "Did you ever consider that the fayer is standing right here?" She ask with a smirk. I look at her in confusion before my head snaps to Elijah. "No... Thats not possible. Vampires cannot procreate. Everyone knows that," I say. "You're mother was no normal witch. She had a gene that allowed her to be impregnated by a vampire that's he didn't know about. In result. You had her," she says pointing to me.

We both started at her in pure shock. "Stop bullshiting me," I his angrily. "I'm not," she smirks. "Why do you think we want you so bad. You have an inactivated vampire gone in your blood. You could be of the most powerful creatures in the world once it's activated as well as immortal," she smiles. Out of no here, she screams in pain.

A black mark carved into her forehead. "I've said too much," she gasp. It's as if her head melts into itself because it literally caves in. "Gross," I grumble. I turn to a stunned Elijah. "So, what are you going to do? Walk away? Act like we never talked or are you going to try this whole father thing out?" I ask. "You're acting as though no matter the result, this won't affect you," he says. "I live with my alcoholic step-father. Never been high in the dad apartment so I don't really know how I should miss you," I tell him honestly.

"How about you think about it," I say, walking off. In all honesty, I don't t know how to react. In my experience, a father only causes pain. I don't want to get hurt again. In one day though, Elijah shows me that I would trust him. Trust is something that doesn't come easy to me.

It's been about thirty minutes since I left Elijah and he's nowhere in sight. I feel a sharp pain on my stomach, causing me to cry out. Looking down, I see an arrow wedged into my stomach.

I hit the concrete hard, blood soaking my clothes. "Aw. Did that hurt?" A twisted sounding voice ask. I look up to see a man hovering over me. He has this twisted smirk on his face and an arrow in the other. He reaches down and yanks it out, causing me to scream in pain.

He grabs my arm and throws me over his shoulder. My blood leaks onto his plaid shirt but, he doesn't care.

He carries me through the woods, every step he makes hurting me even more. I cry in pain, causing him to park my back. "Shh. Shh. Don't cry. We're almost there," he tries to comfort.

We end up in some underground dungeon where he plops me down on the ground. He puts a magic canceling chain around my ankle. "What do you want?" I cough out. My consciousness is fading.

"Simple really. I'm a siphoner. I just need to link your magic to my own. Don't worry though, I'm not going to kill you. I'm just going to hurt you really, really... Bad." He smirk. The arrow in his hand traces over my face, not once cutting me. "What the hell does torture have to do with that?" I ask, my voice becoming scratchy.

"You need to be weak in order for me to steal your magic. You Mairtine's are really hard to steal from. It's going to take some time of course. You're magic's connected to nature. Luckily for you, you'll never run out. If it makes you feel better. You won't die as long as I'm alive. You'll almost die but you wont cross that white light just yet," he laughs. His voice is sickeningly sadistic.

"Fuck... You," I groan. That alone drains my energy, sending me into an unconscious state.
