As we walked into odale town I started thinking about blade, will he ever come back? How strong will he be if he does? Will the same thing happen with my Pokemon in the future...?
I shook all those feeling off when we walked to the Pokemon center. We went in and immediately went to the nurse. I didn't pay attention to what she was saying when i was looking around, but kimmy and I gave her our pokeballs when she was done with what she was saying and I looked out the window. Kimmy was making fun of the sounds the restoration machine made as it healed our Pokemon. When we got our Pokemon back I shouted
"Come on, kimmy!"
And we ran out the doors.
"Lets go explore a little"
We walked around odale, stocked up on supplies, and decided to go to petalburg... That's where my father, Norman the gym leader lives... I thought of a few tears ago when he left our home to become a gym leader. I was always helping out with professor birch one day when dad packed up and left the house. He saw me tending to a wurmple that was hurt, when he passed by,
"... James, you shouldn't waste your time with these wild Pokemon, you should only care for Pokemon you own!"
"But, dad, all Pokemon in hoenn should be cared for!"
"Why does birch even let you do this, anyway? Pokemon should only be trained for strength!"
We continued to argue until he scoffed and said
"I'm going to be a gym leader in petalburg, you have to take care of your miter and zangoose! I expect you to battle me in the future, and I'll prove to you that taking care of Pokemon other than your own is a waste!"
He then turned and walked away
"Dad! I'll prove you wrong!"
He didn't listen while I screamed at him...
Kimmy snapped me put of my flashback suddenly
"... Yes?"
"What are you thinking about?"
She said with a concerned look in her face
"Nothing,"
"Are you sure? I can see your emotions, I know something's up, tell me what's wrong!"
"It's nothing, really, nothing that concerns you,"
"Come on, james, tell me,"
"Fine, I was wondering if dad will be happy to see me again. He's been a gym leader for years now, and he hasn't been a real father lately,"
"I know he will, james,"
"He left when I was eight years old, I wish he spent a little more time with mom and me,"
"Why don't you talk to him about it?"
"He won't understand... He never does..."
After what seemed like an hour of silence went by kimmy cracked one of the worst jokes I ever heard, but I still couldn't resist laughing, and I pulled a joke of my own... It wasn't as funny, unfortunately. Then we walked on proceeding toward petalburg...
Route 102...
