"Everyone, this is Cecilia Yaxley. She is the second niece of Corban," Pansy explained, thrilled, looking at Draco and Blaise.
Draco looked her up and down but didn't say anything. She was scared as his eyes examined every part of her body, and when his eyes met hers, he didn't break the eye contact. It felt as if he looked right into her soul as if he could read her, and that scared her more than anything.
"Didn't know Corban had nieces," Blaise interrupted the uncomfortable silence, and Draco looked away from Aurelia, "What about your older sister? Where is she?"
Aurelia nearly choked on her saliva, trying to find an excuse, "Oh, we don't talk much about her. She ran away with a man on her eighteenth birthday."
"Don't tell me she ran away with some mud-blood," Blaise answered unamused, so she quickly shook her head.
"No, it was a half-blood. Honestly, I think she is already dead." Aurelia mumbled as a fake tear ran down her left cheek. For the first time in her life, she was grateful that she was such an emotional mess.
Pansy hugged the girl quickly, trying to comfort her by stroking her back. Aurelia didn't hug anyone since the war, so it was a nice feeling.
Draco took a big sip of his champagne before he noticed it was empty, "I need something more strong," He grumbled, leaving the three alone.
"Sorry about him. He doesn't mean it like that. It's just hard for him to show emotions." The dark-haired woman sighed, letting go of Aurelia again.
Aurelia looked at the floor, feeling quite uncomfortable with the whole situation, "Um, would you be mad if I would leave you as well? I want to get something to eat."
"Of course not." Pansy smiled, turning to Blaise and starting a new conversation.
Aurelia made her way over to the buffet, never before did she see so much tasty food. After taking a few appetizers, she walked to one of the tables, quietly eating her food, while watching the other guests again.
"Corban's niece, you said?" A deep voice asked from behind her. She flinched and quickly turned around before meeting the grey eyes of Draco Malfoy again.
"Yes," Aurelia answered quickly, still chewing her food.
"Seems like you don't know much about manners," He hissed, and she mumbled a quick apology.
"Tell me, Cecilia, what are you doing here?" He asked, taking a step closer to her.
She gulped but decided it would be better to speak up, "I was told about this gala and thought it would be a good occasion to catch up with my uncle."
"Mhm, and have you found your uncle?" He asked with a soothing undertone.
"No, sadly, I wasn't able to find him, but I will go looking for him now if you would excuse me. It was nice talking to you." She smiled and turned to leave when Draco grabbed her wrist.
