I watch Flora as she answers the call on my phone so enthusiastically. I couldn't help but smile together with her.

"Lolo! What's this? Why are you calling Nikolas's number?" Our eyes met and I saw how shocked she was. I bit my lower lip to stifle a smile before looking away. "I mean, Dr. Wyatt's number?" She faked a cough.

I thanked him before he ended the call. Nilingon ko si Flora na pinapanuod pa rin ako, napakurap siya sa biglaan kong titig sa kanya. Pansin ko rin ang pamumula ng mga pisngi niya. I chuckled.

Naalala ko nanaman ang una naming pagkikita ni Flora. She was wearing a cute headband and pink pants while staring and giggling at the cute dogs inside the pet clinic. She even took a photo of Popo.

I overheard her talking on the phone when I was on my way out of the clinic. I didn't want to eavesdrop, I just happened to hear her saying that she'll buy a pet... And I thought of the dogs at the shelter.

"I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I heard you're deciding whether to buy a pet..." Pinagdasal ko na sana huwag itong magalit dahil wala naman akong binabalak na masama. Halata ko na mayaman ito dahil sa pananamit at pagsasalita. And the way she said that she'll buy instead of adopt.
