Spartan and White Canary were currently en route to the SCPD precinct when Green Arrow came over comms.
"Spartan, White Canary, I'm rerouting you to a new destination, since Thea's in town and she's got Tommy covered, I'll explain later, but Alena found where Malcolm was storing was his device to level the Glades and I need you two to secure it, since those dwarf star particles are way too dangerous and volatile to allow anyone else to have. Even Argus. When you get there, Alena will walk you through disarming it. I'm heading to the precinct now to keep an eye on Tommy, but you two are closer to the location of the device." Green Arrow said.
"Copy that. What's the status on Wild Dog and Black Canary?" Spartan asked.
"They're doing everything they can to keep things calm in the Glades to prevent the chaos that happened last time." Green Arrow said.
"Copy that. And tell my sister that if she dies again, I'll have Constantine bring her back just so I can kill her myself." White Canary said.
"Please, stop lying Sara, we all know that's a lie. If you could bring Laurel back, you'd do everything you could to keep her that way. But don't worry, I had Cisco include a few extra defensive features into her suit." Green Arrow said.
"Plus, it helps that Laurel's a meta now." Spartan said as he received the coordinates from Alena in his helmet's visor and quickly reset his bike's GPS to them.
"Wait, what?" White Canary asked.
"Yeah, we found that out a few weeks ago and it turns out in this reality, Laurel has an actual canary cry instead of just a device." Green Arrow said.
"Okay, I will definitely be talking to her about that later, but for now we need to stay focused on the mission." White Canary said, wondering how the hell her sister got meta powers.
"Let Alena know when you get there and let us know when the device is disarmed." Green Arrow said as he got off their comms.
"So, why do I get the feeling that you found out Laurel was a meta in a very painful way?" White Canary asked as she turned to follow him.
"Do you really want to talk about this now?" Spartan asked her, kind of annoyed.
"I could see the tension between you and Laurel the entire time we were in the bunker. What's going on? I thought you two were friends?" White Canary asked him and Spartan sighed.
"Let's just say I was reminded that holding grudges is something that runs in your family." Spartan said.
"I thought Laurel didn't blame you for what happened with Andy?" Sara asked, since she had talked to Laurel about that and her sister had confirmed that.
"I'm not talking about what happened to Andy. I'm talking about what happened between Oliver and I while we were dealing with Diaz." John said.
"Oh you mean when you threw a temper tantrum that resulted in you abandoning Oliver when he was fighting the only villain who's gotten in his head as badly as Slade did?" Sara asked, making it very clear that she was very well aware of what had happened and she shared her sister's views of John's behavior.
"Yeah, well, she called me out on it and it turned into a whole thing that ended with her using a metahuman canary cry to send me flying to the other end of the bunker and me ceding the position of second in command to her, since honestly, she deserves it a lot more than I do, since she never abandoned Oliver or quit the team." Spartan said, giving White Canary a look before she could say anything.
"Fair point, but both times I left Team Arrow were for good reason. The first time I left was because it was the only way to get Oliver the forces he needed to turn the tide against Slade's army and the second time was because I was more of a liability due to my bloodlust driving me to try and kill Thea. And it worked out for the best." Sara said, since honestly, her decision to leave Team Arrow had led to her not only finding her place as the captain of the Legends, but also meeting the love of her life.
"I know and trust me Sara, while Oliver and I have talked all this out, I still haven't forgiven myself for breaking the most important rule of the corp. But it won't happen again. And that's why I let Laurel take over as Oliver's second in command. She never betrayed him. I mean yes she kept a few secrets from him, but that's really just her evening the playing field for all the secrets he kept from her." Spartan said and White Canary laughed and nodded in agreement as they arrived at the location Alena gave them.
"Alena, we've arrived at the compound." Spartan said as they got off their bikes.
"When do I get a codename like the rest of you?" Alena asked over the comms.
"Wow, she really is like Felicity." White Canary said and Spartan chuckled.
"Yeah, just less chatty." Spartan said.
"Back on topic, we're on sight, can you tell us what we're walking into?" Spartan asked.
"Sorry, I got nothing. That entire building is a dead zone, which means that you'll most likely lose my comm signal the moment you get inside. But what I can tell you is to be careful where you aim Spartan, since White Canary prefers fighting up close and personal while you prefer to use a gun, since one wrong shot could end up setting off the device, which is exactly what we don't want to happen. I'll see if I can find a way to work around the dead zone so I can guide you through disarming the device and remember, Green Arrow wants those dwarf star particles brought back to the bunker for safekeeping." Alena said.
"Copy that." Spartan said as he and White Canary prepared to enter the building.
"You want to do the honors or should I?" White Canary asked.
"You do it. You can't always cut loose like this when you're time traveling." John said since he knew that Sara had to be careful not to kill the wrong person when they were the past.
"Thank you." White Canary said as she then proceeded to kick the door in to reveal a few lone Thanatos Guild thugs.
"Intruders." One of them snapped.
"Look, we'll give you one chance to surrender, since your boss is dead and the rest of your Guild is being taken out as we speak. Stand down and maybe Ra's al Ghul will grant you enough mercy to let you join the League of Assassins." White Canary said, even though she and Spartan both knew that wouldn't happen.
"Liars. Al Sah Her is not dead and he will reward us for bringing him the heads of his enemies." The guild members said as they charged towards him.
"So, think they realize they're outmatched?" White Canary asked, since John had been trained by Oliver in league combat, so he was at least decent with a sword, though not at her's or Oliver's level of course.
"I think they're about to. Let's get this over with quickly." Spartan said and White Canary nodded as they proceeded to quickly cut through Malcolm's lackeys like cake.
"I thought that Malcolm would've sent some of his more competent minions to guard his machine." White Canary said.
"Unless he was planning on getting rid of the Guild's weak links in addition to the rest of the Glades. But the important thing is that we've secured the device." Spartan said as he and White Canary approached the device, which looked exactly like the one Earth Two Tommy Merlyn had attempted to use before that earth was destroyed by the Anti Monitor.
"Think we should try to remove the particles?" White Canary asked.
"No. This device looks exactly like it's Earth 2 counterpart from the old reality. We need to ensure that it's disarmed before we mess with it, otherwise we could set it off, which means we need Alena here to crack it." Spartan said and White Canary nodded in agreement.
