POV Kimi

I spent the greater part of the morning teaching Pete how to salsa dance with him teaching me how to tango in exchange before we spent the day at the malls within the Luxury district.

Pete and I brought matching rings and a golden rosary that looked just like the one my mother always wore.

Being with him made my heart feel like it was on fire every time He looked at me.

Honestly, there were times when I'd catch him just staring and then have the audacity to smile at me when he saw my face get as red as a freakin cherry with that dumbass making me feel so embarrassed.

I tried texting and calling Nathan to say that we were coming back to the Eastside but each time, no response.

Not that this fool regularly responds to me when I try to communicate but this time it gave me a bad feeling in my bones.

I told Pete and he agreed to stop by the hideout before we made our way to the house and from the direction, we came from we went through the back.

Everything seemed quiet besides a few small popping sounds in the background. "Let me show you something".

Pete stepped to the side and pulled the loading dock door revealing a bright full moon sitting gracefully on the sea's horizon.

"The moon is beautiful, Isn't it?". I said it is with my eyes on the moon until I looked at him with his eyes on me like I was the only thing worth looking at giving me nothing but butterflies.

"I'm glad we had the last day or so to ourselves...everything that's been happening has been a lot, to be honest".

"Love, can I ask you something?". He nodded, surprisingly giving more attention to me than he had already. "Why do you like me? Let alone enjoy being around me. It's impossible not to see the way you look at me...like I'm just perfect in your eyes and can literally do no wrong".

At this point, we were sitting with the water only mere inches in front of us as he stared at the moon deep in thought for a minute just as still as the calm oceans.

"When people see me, they put me into some type of category of how they think they should treat me and think I am. As a guy with my past partners, I always automatically assume the protector role and constantly give and give and fix without any concern for my own problems and wouldn't bother telling them because it's always the same "Oh, I'm sorry", 'I'm sorry to hear that". Then we move on without talking about it again.".

He continued staring at the mood as if his emotions were reflecting off the light. "With you, saving you isn't my top priority, emotionally speaking.". He smiled.

"You're not going to hit me or call me anything that isn't outta fun and when things go bad with my anxiety or literally anything else you know what to do and how to actually handle shit. We balance each other out and I haven't wanted anyone like this since I was little and wanted my mom".

"I...Thank you, babe". I wasn't sure what else to say since no one's ever been this kind to me besides him and it's been months now but I'm still not used to it.

"Kimi". I spaced out and responded with a 'mande?' as quickly as possible hoping I didn't miss anything important. "When this is all ever, I want to leave Neverland and maybe see what it feels like to be normal for a change".

"Pete, nothing about us, let alone this relationship, Is normal. When we met, I was in my underwear in the middle of a shootout and after our first kiss, I held a gun to your side, and both times you were just gazing into my eyes like I was the most beautiful thing you've ever seen".
