Chapter 17: K

     I faded in and out of consciousness like every part of me was in pain but all I could do was lay still and watch the street lights pass by.
     Nathan and Manny rushed me into the house as if I was dying, then I might have been but they were scared to move me anywhere but the couch as the both of them took turns playing Operation on me after I was stripped and cleaned.
     I had some trouble sleeping so I tossed and turned on the couch even though it hurt to move.
     I ended up in a fetal position with my back against the cushions with a pillow over my head.
     The door opened as I saw someone come in as Nate sat in a chair across from me.
     From the hardwood floor in front of the door to the carpet it kinda sounded like heels with light footsteps that led to a deafening smack as they stopped.
     "What the fuck is wrong with you? You knew she was missing for months and the one time you tell me about Katalina is when she's been shot then this bullshit with you got going with my little brother...I know it was you that put him there".
     It's been years since I've heard of anyone laying a hand on Nate and who the hell is Katalina? Better yet, who the fuck is this hostile ass broad?
     "If I'm being honest I only found her recently and from what she told me, she didn't want to be found and Damien had it coming".
      Apparently from what I can see this lady didn't like that last bit so much that pointed a piece at his head.
     Nate got up from his seat and this fool wrapped his hand around the middle of the piece and moved it to his head without breaking eye contact.
     I tried getting up to stop whatever the hell this is but it felt like I was wearing a weighted vest in times four gravity.
     "Safeties on". Nate smirked like a jackass whilst I was almost pissing myself just watching this.
     The mystery woman lowered their piece. "I came to tell you that the Salt Boys are now officially affiliates of the Lost...they're all yours".
     They walked to the door and stopped in their blood red heels that matched their toes.
      "Still a dick, Nathan. Keep me updated on your brother, Kimi is gonna be fine. The bullet went through and through....I love you so much but keep another secret from me again and swear to God I'll put one in your skull".
      The front door slammed shut as a moment passed and Nate said a quiet "I love you too" to himself.
     "Nate". He turned to me as I managed to get the pillow off of me.
     "I gotta pee". I laughed to myself as he rolled his eyes and walked away before deciding to help me to the bathroom.
