Nagito's POV:

I'd gotten through Russian Roulette - one of the few times my otherwise-useless Ultimate helped me out. Now I had access to the 'octagon', where the supposed Ultimate Weapon was stored. Whatever it was, I knew it would be far more useful than me, and hopefully I can prove I had at least *some* worth as being at least their stepping stone...

When I opened the door, all I could see was piled up weapons, but nothing worthy of being called the 'Ultimate Weapon'... just katanas, guns and various blades. All of them seemed pretty lethal, but considering how much the Ultimate Weapon was hyped up and hidden, they were just for display. I ventured in further to investigate and came across a book - I opened it to see all our faces in the pages...

"Hey. I see you got past Russian Roulette. Pretty lucky."

I turned around to see a girl speaking to me - she looked pretty harmless, but I hadn't seen her here before. Maybe Monokuma brought in a transfer student? She was smiling at me, beaming with hope. It was difficult to believe she was working with Monokuma, but why else would see feel so content with being in here, around all these weapons?

"Sorry, did I disturb you? Oh, you found the book."

She stepped toward me, and I slightly backed up - she seemed pretty comfortable, given the situation.

"Oh! My name's (Y/N) (L/N), and I'm—"

I sighed heavily, and she stopped talking; I felt a twang of guilt but that quickly subsided as I kept reading the book. It didn't even register until minutes later that she was standing right behind me, reading the book over my shoulder.

"You're still here?"

"I haven't got anywhere else to go... if I left of my own will, Monokuma would kill me. Literally."

Considering everyone else here had an ultimate talent, she must've been even more important to be locked up in here. Wondering over this, I kept looking around, searching for anything else that could be considered the Ultimate Weapon, given that I had the chance.

"Since you kind of cut me off, I'll finish introducing myself so you can end your pointless search."

End my search? What could she mean by that....?

"Awh, what's that look on your face? I know what you're looking for~~ and I....'m it! I'm (Y/N) (L/N), the Ultimate Weapon! ... judging by your silence, it's obvious you weren't expecting a weak, pathetic girl like me..."

She looked a little dejected as she said that last sentence, as if I was judging her. She was the Ultimate Weapon? She seemed almost identical to me! Someone who felt as useless and worthless as me...

"Sorry. I shouldn't be acting like this in front of an Ultimate like you..."

It was like looking into a circus tent mirror - it was comforting to have someone feel the same way I did... but she was supposed to be the Ultimate Weapon. Why was she acting so... depressive..

"So... are you going to take me with you? After all, that's the only way I can leave, and you've earned the right to... 'claim your prize'... by letting me OUT. OF HERE!!!!!"

Suddenly she began to bang on the door in a craze, crying and screaming to be let out - the door seemed to be locked? But I'm sure that this door had no keyhole at all, so there's no way it could be locked. I walked over and opened the door with ease, and she tried to run out - but instead down force repelled her backwards! It threw her into the wall, with enough force that blood spilled from the back of her head. I knew that we'd just met and that she was clearly a more worthy being than me, but I still rushed over to help her.

"N-No... Komaeda, I'm fine. I don't need your help... I don't deserve your help..."

She batted me away, and used the wall to stand up straight; she was still bleeding, but she was acting like nothing had happened.

"Look, I don't know who you are, but you need medical attention. Let me help y—"

"No! I can't burden you like that... I really don't live up to my title... You wasted your time on me..."

Before I could do anything, she took out a syringe and jabbed it into the nape of her neck - as if it was nothing at all! She didn't even flinch as it pierced her skin, like it caused no pain at all.

"(Y/N)! You can't just do that so carelessly!"

"Why do you care? You're *just* like me.. worthless, useless, better off dead.."

I had no time to think, but I slapped her across the face - I turned red from embarrassment and guilt, but she showed no reaction. Now she's stopped bleeding, which was strange - what was in that syringe? My hand was just in the air now, as I was trying to process what I'd just done to her. I was acting like others did to me.. cruel and heartless, treating me as less than human... She didn't deserve that, no matter what she said.

"I'm.. sorry, (Y/N), I d-didn't mean to—mmmfhh!"

She pressed her finger against my lips, to shut me up... my head was spinning with ideas of what she'd do. With all those weapons around, their were countless possibilities of what kind of torture she'd do to me... but those thoughts were completely cleared from my mind as she caught me in a... hug? Even though I'd just slapped her, she hugged me?

"Do it again. Hit me. I've never felt so... alive!"

Alive? I looked at her in horror for a minute, trying to reason why she was acting like this, when I realised something more terrifying - it's what I did. She did the same as I did, deriving her happy sensations from pain and suffering.

"Then you hit me first... I'm not gonna hurt you unless you hurt me too."

What? You can't blame me for wanting to have a little fun while I'm here. After a lot of hitting, kicking and sword fighting she ended up kissing me and I did the same. I was so happy to have someone who felt such pitiful despair, maybe more than I did, and got their hope and pleasure from it all... It was *despairing* !

"Komaeda. Stop."

What? Why was she so abruptly ending this? Especially after she started it all, got us all caught up in it—

"I don't deserve to have this moment - I should just stop now, cut my losses.. Nagito Komaeda, the Ultimate Lucky Student... I don't deserve you.. this world doesn't deserve you."

And with that, she grabbed a katana and slashed it across her neck - blood ebbed from the wound and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was just forced to watch her die in front of me; what kind of sick mind games was this?! Another person died in front of me... another person died for no reason at all... her similarity to me was almost foreboding. I picked up the katana that was now bloody and loose in her hand, as she laid on the floor. I sheathed the katana once again and put it on the wall mount.

"I'm almost jealous of such *pitiful* despair..."
