"I'm gonna kill you!" Scott yelled, throwing the offending dog bowl at Stiles with his free hand. He seethed from his position on the floor.
It was the night of the full moon and it had been affecting him all day. His senses were heightened even more so than usual and his emotions were all over the place. Half of the things he did and said, he felt he had no control over.
Stiles whipped around, walking towards him again. "You kissed her, Scott. Okay? You kissed Lydia. That's, like, the one girl that I-"
Scott let out a small snarl at words. He didn't know why what Stiles had said was filling him with rage, filling him with jealousy. Scott didn't like Lydia, ever since they were kids and she had called Scott stupid. Hell, kissing her didn't even feel as good as he expected it to.
He decided to do like Stiles and blame his confusing emotions on the full moon. The human was still talking to him but it was getting harder to focus on the words the higher the moon rose in the sky.
It wasn't until Stiles had called him a "piece of crap friend" that Scott refocused on the conversation at hand. He felt angry and upset at the words. He was always following Stiles around, doing as he said, but one mistake had Stiles calling him a bad friend?
"She kissed me." Scott had meant for the words to come out somewhat reassuring. He had meant to let Stiles know that he hadn't kissed Lydia intentionally. He had meant to let Stiles know he was acting under the full moon, that this wasn't him.
Yet he felt a smirk form on his face.
"What?" Stiles asked quietly.
"She kissed me." Scott repeated, watching as Stiles walked out the door, not wanting to hear any more. Scott knew he hadn't left though. He could hear his heartbeat right outside the door. He wanted desperately to apologise, to stop the antagonising words spilling from his mouth but found he couldn't. Deep down he wanted Stiles to know. Wanted Stiles to understand that Lydia didn't want him. He didn't understand why he wanted Stiles to get over the girl.
Scott eventually began to tug against the handcuff, wanting to find a way to make it up to Stiles. The full moon was rising higher and he was starting to feel it. It felt like a burning sensation, something that burnt all rational thought out of him, leaving him with only primal instincts.
"Stiles, please let me out," he begged. "It's the full moon, I swear. You know I wouldn't do any of this on purpose." Scott told him, all of his words true. He would never try to hurt Stiles. They had been best friends for twelve years now. He hated seeing Stiles hurt and it was killing him that he was the cause.
"Please, Stiles, let me out. It's starting to hurt. It's not like the first time. It's the full moon. Just, please, let me out." Scott begged. He felt the need to run, the need to let go. But still he felt the need to comfort Stiles, to apologise.
Stiles' soft "I can't..." was the last thing Scott heard before the full moon began to shine through his window. Scott began to scream and writhe in pain, his transformation taking over. Shifting was extremely uncomfortable. He could feel the skin and muscles in his face shift, could feel the sharp fingernails and teeth ripping through his skin.
"Stiles! Stiles, please! I'm sorry!" Scott sobbed out, tugging desperately against the restraint.
Stiles squeezed his eyes shut. He wanted nothing more than to rush in and unchain Scott but knew he couldn't. He didn't know what Scott was capable of and he didn't want to find out. The sound of his best friends screams broke his heart. He wished he could comfort the werewolf, do something to calm him down. He would get rid of the moon altogether if he knew it would help Scott.
Suddenly the room went silent. The clanging of the metal handcuffs against the radiator stopped as did Scott's yelling.
"Scott?" Stiles quickly stood up, hoping that Scott had managed to pass out or something. "Scott, are you-" Stiles halted in the doorway.
Scott stood next to the radiator, his shoulders rising and falling with the heavy breaths he was taking. His eyes glowed yellow in the dim lighting. Stiles took an apprehensive step back.
"Scott...?" He asked softly, not taking his eyes off of his friend. He knew the chains were still in the room but he doubted he had the time to chain Scott up before he lashed out.
"I said I was sorry." Scott's words came out with a slightly lisp, him not being used to speaking around his fangs.
"Scott," Stiles mumbled weakly, unsure of where Scott was going with this.
"I am sorry, Stiles. I didn't want to kiss her, I didn't mean to." Scott growled out.
Stiles nodded slowly, his hands up in surrender.
"Okay, Scott, I believe you."
"But do you forgive me?"
"I-" Stiles licked his lips nervously. "Yeah, Scott, I forgive you."
Scott took a step forward, then another, until Stiles was backed into the hall wall. Scott stood in front of him, only a step away.
Stiles' breathing was heavy. Scott could feel the nervousness rolling off of him in waves.
"I'm not in control." Scott spoke with a shaky voice.
"I know, Scotty." Stiles tried to reassure despite his nervousness. "It's okay. I'm over it."
"You should be over her." Scott growled out unintentionally.
"What?" Stiles frowned, shifting uncomfortably.
"You should be over her." Scott repeated, his voice stern and unwavering.
"What do you mean, Scotty?" Stiles asked softly, not willing to full let his guard down around Scott yet.
Suddenly, Scott was leaning in, pressing his lips against Stiles'. Stiles eyes widened before he quickly gave in and kissed back. He gently reached out to hold Scott's waist, feeling the urge to pull his best friend closer. Scott's face slowly began to shift back, him listening to the slightly unsteady rhythm of Stiles' heart. His fangs withdrew slowly but his nails didn't retract.
"You should be over her." Scott repeated when he pulled back. He was mostly human now. The only evidence of the full moon was his nails, ears and eyes.
Stiles only nodded in return, assuming this was another symptom of the full moon. Maybe Scott really hadn't meant to kiss Lydia. Maybe he just felt the urge to kiss everyone. Stiles didn't understand it per say, and over the next few days he couldn't find any information about it online.
Still, they both blamed the kiss on the full moon.
