Age reference: Y/n is 17, Techno is 20
One boring day, Y/n was walking around the castle when she decided to go give Technoblade a visit. She made her way to his study's door and knocked a few times.
"Come in," a voice called from the other side.
Y/n turned the doorknob and entered the room, closing the door behind her. Technoblade, who looked like he had just finished signing something, put his ink feather down and put the paper to the side.
"Hi," the king greeted simply, "What's up?"
"Nothing, just bored, I guess..." Y/n sighed, looking around at various little things in the king's office.
Techno hummed, "I see..."
Y/n nodded, looking at a small piece of paper containing dates and times.
"Techno?"
"Yeah?"
"What's the... Syndicate?"
Panic. "W-well..." More panic. "It's a group of people. Nothing too extreme." Untruthful.
"Oh..."
"Why?" Technoblade asked, trying to understand why Y/n would feel the need to question the subject.
"I don't know... I've heard you mention it..." Y/n explained, "I heard Wil mention it... that Ranboo guy, and Puffy too. That's all," Y/n explained naïvely, justifying her reasons.
She didn't even notice that he had moved over to right next to her. He was so fast and silent. She turned to look at him and he was right there, startling her slightly.
"Well, it's nothing to worry about," Technoblade told as he gently took the paper out of her hands and put it down on one of the extra planning tables he had in his study.
"And if it was something to worry about...?" Y/n asked.
Technoblade pressed a soft kiss to the side of Y/n's face, "Then I would tell you about it," he smiled.
Y/n hummed in acknowledgment as the male pressed more kisses to Y/n's face. He pressed her smaller frame against his, holding her close. Y/n's hands were pressed flat against his chest as Technoblade keep showing his fondness towards Y/n, melting her worries away with affection, something he found would always work.
Y/n responded well to his affection. He could control the levels, as well. He could fluster Y/n, or just merely sooth her. Either way, it distracted her.
Once out of Technoblade's office, Y/n sighed. She leaned against the wall next to the door of the office, fiddling with the hem of her dress.
She stared into nothingness, a feeling growing in her stomach that she could only describe as maybe worry, and slight betrayal. It had been long enough to be able to tell when the other was lying, but not always the truth was told.
Y/n decided not to hang around any longer and walked off.
Meanwhile, the king moved briskly to put all of his work that even gave a hint of the Syndicate away, hiding it away within books and articles in the back bookshelf. It's true, he had been rather careless as to hide it, but that was too close to Y/n finding it. If Y/n had found it, she would only worry, and whoever was involved was in danger. He couldn't do that to the poor female.
It had been a day or two, and now Y/n was determined to find out what was in the king's office. He had set up a few rules a year or two ago about his study:
You aren't allowed in his study if Technoblade isn't in there.
Don't go snooping through his stuff.
Don't touch the back bookshelves.
Y/n was about to break all of those rules.
Y/n knew the king's schedule quite well. She knew that in the morning, he would go to breakfast, then to his study for a few hours until lunch. After lunch, he would return to his office for an hour before heading to the training grounds for two hours. Then he would come back to his study for two more hours before heading to dinner.
Y/n put all this information in her head, and she waited a day or two.
Y/n and Technoblade had lunch together, before they went their separate ways. Y/n practically watched the clock tick in her own study before the hand hit 1 o'clock. Y/n quickly got up and made her way down the hall. She hid at the opposite end behind the curve of the hallway. After a minute or two, Y/n heard a door open, and she peeked her head around the sharp corner of the wall.
The king had left his study, and he was heading towards the training grounds.
Y/n, waiting another minute to make sure he was gone for good, then crept to his office where she quietly opened the door, stepped into the room, and closed it behind her. She let out a soft breath she didn't realize she was holding.
Now that Y/n had free roam of Technoblade's office, she walked around to his desk. She briefly skimmed through the papers he had already on his desk.
No.
She looked through things he had in the drawers of his desk.
Nothing.
She started to look through things on the few other tables he had in his study.
Nope.
Y/n sighed. Where would he put important stuff?
Y/n looked around, and her eyes caught on a bookshelf in the back. She walked over to it, and sure enough-
Something.
There were papers hidden within the books, and books that weren't part of his collection scattered along with articles that would be found in the library.
Y/n pulled down a book and looked through it.
Syndicate. Bloodbath. High ranking killers. All bad, bad things to hear about.
Y/n read through the papers and articles dreadfully, as well as some planning that she had guessed were written by the king himself.
The princess was so caught up in her own world, with her head in these books, that she didn't even notice someone had entered the room.
Word count is 1014 words.
