Edith

'I intercepted this for you,' Ginny hissed and pressed an envelope into my hands.

Bewildered, I took it from her. I had only just woken up, I'd had a difficult time falling asleep the night before and was embarrassed at how late I had slept in. My energy was coming back, but slowly.

I had hoped to sneak downstairs unnoticed and pretend I had been there the whole time, but Ginny accosted me the moment I arrived in the kitchen.

'Erm... thanks,' I said and turned the envelope over.

Mrs Edith Weasley

Ah. I quickly flipped it back over. Mrs West hadn't been joking about filing the paperwork for my name change. I hadn't thought it would be processed so quickly. Suddenly I was extremely grateful for Ginny's intervention. I looked back over at her, she winked with a grin and then left to rejoin the others.

'You feeling alright?' I felt a gentle hand on my back and looked up to see my secret husband, a little smirk on his face.

'Aye, sorry,' I told him. 'I had a hard time falling asleep, I didn't mean to sleep so late.'

'It's fine, Edith,' he assured me. 'Everyone just thinks you're knackered from your finals. What's this?'

He reached down and took the envelope. I watched his mouth stretch into a grin as he read the addressee.

'I like the look of that,' he said. 'Blimey, it's like you belong to me or something.'

'No, I think it's you that belongs to me,' I smirked up at him and snatched the envelope back.

'What is it?' He asked.

'Probably the results of my Healing finals,' I answered.

'They don't miss a trick, do they?'

'Edith, dear,' Mrs Weasley bustled into sight. I slipped the letter behind my back. 'I do hope you're feeling alright. I saved you some breakfast.'

'Erm... thanks, Mrs Weasley,' I told her, feeling my face flush.

'Which Mrs Weasley are you referring to?' George whispered in my ear. I smacked him on the arm, he only laughed.

'You're the one who wants to keep this a secret, not me!' I reminded him.

'What was that, dear?' Mrs Weasley asked.

'Nothing, Mum,' he said.

She raised an eyebrow like she knew better than to believe him but seemed to decide against probing the matter further.

'Well, open it!' George urged me after his mother had dropped a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of me and then busied herself with lunch preparations. 'I missed out on a lot of time with you for that letter, I want to know if it was worth it.'

I rolled my eyes and pulled the envelope out of my back pocket, taking a quick look around me to make sure no one was paying us any attention.
