3rd Pov

Elizabeth and her husband Dale were not the richest people but did have enough to live comfortably. Elizabeth ran the art store in Moralton while Dale was a pilot for a commercial airline. The two of them lived in a three bedroom 2 bathroom house that wasn't too big but was cozy. Before Mary moved in they used one bedroom for them, another for a collection room and a third one that was a guest bedroom. The guest bedroom had little to no use until Mary needed it.

As much as Dale loved his adoptive daughter Mary, he felt like her moving back in with them was a mental regression of some sorts. He knew she went through emotional hell when Dylan left her, but he and Elizabeth tried so hard to get her back to a normal emotional state, but Mary seemed to drown in sorrow when ever they would try to raise her emotions up.

It didn't take too long to move Mary in with Elizabeth. Mary didn't have much left since Dylan took most of her things. The move out and in were really awkward. Mary was very quiet the entire time when moving things which made sense to both Elizabeth and Dale since Mary had planned to raise her children in that house. But Elizabeth still tried to get her sister to talk with little to no success. Elizabeth would ask little things like:

"So... You a little excited to see what Moralton is like?"

Mary would always just make an acknowledgment sound

"Mhm..."

or

a nod was the most she would do but no words were uttered from Mary the entire time the three adults moved her various items from her house. The drive to Moralton would have been silent as well if Elizabeth and Dale didn't make some awkward small talk.

Once they actually drove into Moralton a bunch of towns people eyed the couple and their adoptive daughter seemingly making assumptions of the relationship between the couple and Mary. It never really bothered Elizabeth what the town thought of her, it wasn't like they'd loose business because she owned the only art store in town. Dale didn't mind because he was away from home often and didn't really hear the gossip that would spread through out town. Mary was too lost in her own head to see or hear the gossip already spreading like weeds in a garden.

Once Mary officially had all her items moved into her sisters house, she laid on her bed staring emptily at the wall. Like all her life had been sucked away the 8 years she'd been alone. But if Mary was being really honest with herself it wasn't the first time she felt alone. Throughout her entire marriage to Dylan Mary felt alone so a total of 19 years she felt alone even when she had "company".

It took two more weeks of hiding in her room before Elizabeth made her leave it and take a walk to her art store with her

"Okay Lilacs I know you don't want to put yourself back out there but come on, its been like 8 years at the very least come help me in the shop everyday to get you out of bed in the morning."

Mary frowned and put her head down

"I'm... Sorry... Its just I don't know how to pick my life back up after everything... But I will help you in the shop each day until I figure out what I want to do..."

"That's a perfect start. I can help you figure yourself out maybe get you a friend or a boyfriend." Elizabeth teased

"I don't think Im ready for a life partner yet.."

"Well I'm not saying get yourself a husband but a short time one you can work through you issues with like a fuck buddy."

"Elizabeth your not supposed to curse! It'll upset God..." Mary scolded

"Ugh, you and Dale I swear." Elizabeth said rolling her eyes at her sister

"I don't get it Eli why don't you want to believe in God anymore?" Mary asked confused
