3rd Pov:

Before Mary met Dylan she never really had that much luck in love. She was like Rod in many ways, very awkward and would never know what to say. Her first date would have been a total disaster if not for Elizabeth.

Mary was around 16 on her first date and to say she was nervous was an understatement. Mary was so nervous she had to have Elizabeth push her out of their house to get her to start the date. She also gave Mary the advice of 'just being herself'. But.. since she was really nervous she acted like a completely different person, which didn't really help with them being together for nearly 20 years. In fact had she been herself during the first date both of them would have found out they weren't compatible and wouldn't have continued their relationship.

The day was a normal hot as hell Sunday and Mary walked to the church alone as per usual.

Every Sunday since the one Rod wrote a letter to Elizabeth, Mary has been attending and been leaving as soon as the sermon ended. Mary didn't want to leave that early but her sister had pretty much demanded it from her. Of course Mary didn't know the reason why, she just thought it was because her sister needed the help with the art store.

But the real reason was Elizabeth didn't want Mary to be near the reverend more than needed. Ever since Elizabeth found out the love letter was meant for Mary she was rather... Pissed off. She spent almost 9 years helping her sister recover from her last relationship she was in. And lord knows what the reverend had planned for her sweet innocent baby sister. But over Elizabeth's dead body will she let the reverend get even slightly close to her sister.

But, despite Mary knowing she needed to head to the shop as soon as possible today, she was a little distracted. As she had been curious about one of the sermons the reverend did and was curious about what he meant by some of the words he choose to use during it.

Rod had also seen Mary booking it out of the church every Sunday, and was getting really.....Desperate. Every single time Rod got the guts to even talk to her, she would have left the church already. It was driving him nuts... Even if he speed walked to the door she would still be gone before he got there. But this time he would no matter what ask her out, even if he had to go to the art store and face Elizabeth head on.

This particular Sunday, Mary decided she would get to the church a little later than her usual time. As she would usually be at the church the second it was supposed to be opened and go through the back entrance Stephaine showed her. But today she would wait for others to come and go in through the front as she felt a little odd going through the back, like it was a restricted area and she was breaking one of the rules.

As she got ready that morning Elizabeth knocked on her door

"Hey Mar, can I come in?"

"Sure Eli come in!" Mary cheered

Elizabeth walked in and looked at her sister who was brushing her hair at her vanity desk

"My, you seem chipper this morning... Any reason why?" Elizabeth asked

"Well, you know how I get on Sundays. But I am excited because I want to ask the reverend something on one of the recent sermons he delivered." Mary explained

"Well, I could probably answer it for you." Elizabeth offered

"Well, I think its only a question he can answer.. But, Eli can I ask you something else that's unrelated?" Mary asked
