The next day we went shopping to pick up some clothes for Rudy because the ones I had weren't very suitable for the weather especially as it seemed to get hotter and hotter every day even though it seemed cooler today. While out we instantly found the most adorable red spotty dress set that came with white shoes and a bow to go around her head and I knew I wanted to get it so once I had paid for it we quickly changed Rudy out of he leggings and long sleeved top to the dress I had just bought, I carried her around and people were constantly saying how cute she was and I could only agree.

We also spent some time in the sun on the beach just taking in the heat and playing the sand but I soon started to feel that Rudy was feeling really hot to the touch and her face had quickly turned red, I didn't understand how one minute she was fine and now she was as red as a tomato.

I guess we hadn't been as strict with the sun cream applying because today felt so much cooler than the day before and yesterday she was fine but to be on the safe side we took Rudy back to the hotel and spent some time playing and she was okay at first.

We continued to play with Rudy hoping that her hot dry skin would cool itself and rehydrate thinking that she had just been in the sun too long and her body would regulate itself forgetting that a baby's body isn't as good as an adults. Suddenly Rudy seemed really confused about what she was doing looking around the room like she had just been placed there a matter of seconds ago. Then she looked up at the lights and flinched her eyes squeezing shut as she whimpered making me wonder what was wrong, thinking she was just tired I took her into me arms which made her scream and at first she tried to fight me off but soon seemed to have no energy but she kept tossing and turning.

"She seems so restless" Farah said looking down at her, just as worried as I was.

"I know I don't understand what is wrong with her, could you pass me her juice?" I asked and Farah quickly gave it to me and as I brought it up to Rudy lips she quickly latched onto the teat of the bottle and drank the juice, I was honestly starting to worry but I tried to keep calm still stupidly thinking that she was going to be fine.

Things seemed to start looking up for Rudy shortly after she finished her bottle as she opened her eyes and tried to sit up, I cautiously sat her in front of me keeping a close eye on her but I seemed to calm down when she happily started playing with her toys but as I took my eye of her to speak to Farah who was in the bedroom I heard a retching noise and when I looked back to Rudy she had been sick over her new dress and her breathing had become heavier and more shallow so not wanting to take any more risks, not knowing what was wrong with her I asked Farah to call reception to get them to call and ambulance because we didn't know the number.

I peeled the now not so pretty dress of Rudy leaving her in just her nappy which made her shiver although her skin was still extremely hot to the touch. The thing that worried me the most was Rudy's breathing, it continued to get worse as she lost breath and just as there was a knock at the door Rudy slumped into my arms almost unconscious making me scream for help, I was sure I sounded like a girl but I didn't care, tears fell from my eyes as I was scared for me girl.

I didn't understand how such a good day had turned so sour.

The three of us were pilled into the ambulance and rushed to the hospital, there were two men that were helping us, one driving and one working on Rudy, I didn't speak the language so I had no idea what they were saying but their conversation was quick and seemed panicked which scared me even more as I looked over at my little girl who didn't seem to move once, the huge bed she was lay on made her seem even smaller and she looked so innocent I couldn't help but let tears fall from my eyes even more making Farah hug my side trying to give me some comfort but she knew until my daughter was safe I wouldn't  be happy.

The paramedic started to try difference methods to make Rudy cooled like taking his water bottle from the front of the ambulance and putting the cold water onto his hand then onto Rudy's warm body but he did it slowly I am guessing so Rudy didn't go into shock from the two opposing temperatures on her frail body.

-

When we get to the hospital the paramedic doesn't bother to move the bed Rudy is lay in he just picks her up into his arms and carries her through the emergency door shouting for help. Me and Farah follow quickly behind not knowing what to expect but doctors take Rudy and rush her to another room but closing the door before I can go in and at first I fight it and try to get in but Farah calms me slightly

"They have to do their job and you are stopping them if you fight them" she says rubbing a hand down my arm making the shiver slightly

"This is all my fault" I say falling down the floor leaning against the door
