I feel like this is formatted like a history textbook. For those of you reading in the ✨future✨ I posted this after chapter one.
The Hermitcraft server was placed in an unlucky spot in Season 9. It was next to the serverless lands owned by the Vexes.
The Vexes wanted that land because it wasn't all dark oak forest and mountains. They wanted resources that could be found in other biomes. They sent spies to the server and found everything they wanted--including no people to fight.
By coincidence, the Watchers sent spies to the server a few days prior looking for a good spot for a hidden military base to launch surprise attacks against the Vexes.
When both the Watchers and the Vexes when to claim the server, they found new inhabitants and quickly retreated. The Watchers wanted to capture Grian and Pearl and force them to destroy their own server. The Vexes wanted to capture Cub and Scar to integrate.
Soon it became clear that the Hermits (a group of only 28 people) would have to drive out armies of Vexes and Watchers numbering in the thousands. But how?
